One-time Insider’s pricing on a renowned library gem… Thursday Mar 17th, 2022 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Over 50% Off a Reference-Point California Library Star [2013 Bonny Doon "Le Cigare Volant" Central Coast Rhône Blend (Previously $45)]( ($19.95) "...one of the most celebrated and influential wines of a generation in California." — Ryan Woodhouse, K&L Domestic Buyer --------------------------------------------------------------- We've just taken in a thrilling, winery-direct, library release from one of California's pioneering iconoclasts at a remarkable Insider's price that's more than 50% off the original release price. For decades, Randall Graham has been at the forefront of the wave of innovation that has defined the Central Coast's emergence as a hotbed for world-class Rhône blends. His 2013 Bonny Doon "Le Cigare Volant" Central Coast Rhône Blend is a peak-form example of the style of winemaking that has propelled this brand into an ambassador role for its category. Sourced directly from the winery's cellars, this Grenache-based blend shows all the power and panache that longtime fans of this estate have come to know and love. Boasting infinitely more old-school nuance and structure than its sub-$20 price would suggest, the 2013 is perfectly set up to be a go-to stunner for wine lovers of all stripes. But it's a limited-time offer, as we've taken all we could get—once it's gone, it's gone. (TF)" (04/2018) Woodhouse]( | K&L Domestic Buyer | Review Date: March 09, 2022 No need to pinch yourself, this is not a dream! Yes, we've done it again with another incredible library wine from Bonny Doon Vineyard! As many of you know, I'm a proud alum of Bonny Doon. It was one of my first wine jobs after moving from England to California. I learnt a huge amount during my time there and have a great respect for Randall Grahm and the enormous contribution he's made to the U.S. wine industry. A few years back, Randall decided to sell the winery to investors. The current wines (still shaped by Graham as he remains at the winery in a consulting role) are vibrant and delicious. However, they're a far cry from the wines of old. When Randall sold the winery he retained some of the library inventory. I was delighted last year when he came to me to ask if K&L would be interested in helping him move through some of the wines. A subsequent tasting of the older vintages caused quite the stir amongst staff, the wines had aged beautifully and we were going to get access to them at incredibly affordable pricing! This 2013 Le Cigare Volant (Bonny Doon's longtime flagship bottling) was the pick of the bunch. This wine, styled around the legendary wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, put Randall on the map and is one of the most celebrated and influential wines of a generation in California. A Grenache-driven blend from some of the best vineyards across the Central Coast and raised in a combination of large puncheons, enormous foudre, and tiny, 5-gallon glass carboys, Le Cigare Volant is one of the most ambitious wines of Randall's storied career. With Cigare Volant he set out to make age-worthy wines with the depth and complexity of the European wines that inspired its creation. The 2013 is in a perfect spot for drinking but still has plenty of time ahead of it for further evolution. Right now, dried flowers lead into the delicious, ripe, dark fruits—black raspberry and maraschino cherry mingling effortlessly with more savory tones of bramble, dried herbs, smoked meat, leather, and smoldering embers. The structure is beguiling; the tannins melt away into layers of soft fleshy fruit, while a great savory, earthy minerality underpins the slowly tapering finish. Some iron and crushed rock notes linger. I'm just in love with how this wine captures the generosity and power of California fruit (from a GREAT vintage) with the complexity of savory elements and more terroir-driven nuances that are often lacking in New World wines. Our winery-direct, take-all pricing means this perfectly aged bottling is now more than 50% off the original price! This is likely a once-in-a-lifetime price on such a legendary bottling and a chance to line your cellar with a wine you can savor anytime over the next 10 years. --------------------------------------------------------------- [New Feed]( [Auction]( [Local]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [On the Trail (K&L Blog)]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [Instagram]( [Instagram]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [BORDEAUX]( | [NAPA]( | [BURGUNDY]( | [CHAMPAGNE]( | [ITALY]( | [RHÔNE]( | [SPIRITS]( --------------------------------------------------------------- [My Account]( | [Wine Clubs]( | [Events]( |[Gift Cards]( | [Accessories]( | [Delivery]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Missed an offer?
