[Ken Wright Abbot Claim Vineyard] --------------------------------------------------------------- A pair of new releases from Oregon's iconic Ken Wright lead our line-up this week. Coming in at unbeatable, one-time Insider's pricing of less than $30, the 2019 Ken Wright Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir and the 2019 Ken Wright Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir exemplify everything that made this renowned winemaker a pioneer in his region. Each with respective 93-point scores from Wine Spectator, these are remarkably versatile, authentic expressions of two of Willamette Valley's most prized sub-AVAs at over 30% off the going rate elsewhere. But pricing is limited to stock on hand, so quick action is highly recommended. We never stop scouring the Bordeaux-direct market for impeccable buys in the back-vintage category, and we've just secured another stellar run of some of our all-time favorites from years past. A long-time K&L standout and 95-point value stunner, the 2001 Barde-Haut St-Emilion shines once again, while a modern-classic vintage brings us a pair of collectible best buys in the 2009 Capbern-Gasqueton St-Estèphe and the 2009 Latour-Martillac Pessac-Léognan. Speaking of modern-classic vintages, the 2005 Belgrave Haut-Médoc and the 2010 Grand Pontet St-Emilion each present unreal quality for price from two of the greatest growing seasons of the 21st century. The 2019 Domaine Jamet Côte-Rôtie is a sterling appellation bottling that puts many single-cru expressions to shame. A 98-point score from Decanter has it as “vivid and highly impressive,” while Jeb Dunnuck sees similar potential for its “gorgeous, floral nuances … [and] considerable elegance and finesse.” Since splitting with his brother in 2013, Jean-Paul Jamet has taken the already iconic reputation of this domaine to new heights, and this 2019 is destined to codify Jamet's cult-collectible status for decades to come.
