[Lafage Vineyards] --------------------------------------------------------------- Grenache fans and anyone who loves mindblowing bang for the buck will be thrilled to know that we've just taken a new release from the king of value stunners, Jean-Marc Lafage. For years, this beacon of the Roussillon has turned out otherworldly quality at prices that defy all logic. The 2019 Lafage "Cuvée Nicolas" Côtes Catalanes Vieilles Vignes is all Grenache from 65-year-old vines grown in the foothills of the Pyrenees augmented with fruit from the black schist soils of Maury. Once again, it's an "insane value" according to Jeb Dunnuck in his 95-point review, and French buyer Keith Mabry exclaims, "Every wine the Lafages touch blows the quality-to-price ratio out of the water!" At a mere $15.99, this one is no different, so load up and enjoy to your heart's content. Continuing the recent trend of jaw-dropping Chardonnays coming from Oregon's Willamette Valley, the 2019 Walter Scott "Cuvée Anne" Eola-Amity Hills Chardonnay is another outrageously beautiful bottling that garnered 97 points from Wine Advocate for its "satiny texture and ... elevated length and purity." For an unheard-of, sub-$40 price, it offers a drinking experience on par with wines twice the price or more, yet another piece of evidence that Oregon is where Chardonnay lovers should be focusing their attention. Finally, Scotch aficionados and collectors should hold onto their hats as we introduce a trio of spectacular, age-stated Islay single malt treasures from Redacted Bros. Composed of juice ranging from 29 years to 32 years old, these K&L Exclusive Casks are supremely collectible editions from one of our all-time favorite bottlers.
