Our Newest Acquisitions and Returning Favorites, All In One Place... Monday Jul 19th, 2021 [View in Browser]( [KL-emailheader.gif]( Whether it is a new allocation or an old favorite, below you will find our most recent additions to the diverse selection at K&L Wine Merchants. We receive new opportunities weekly, from direct imports to local distributors to carefully inspected back-vintage collections—read on for the best of this week's discoveries. Here is a look at our full list of [New Arrivals](. Here is our full list of items that are [Back in Stock](. Here you can browse [all our recent additions on the website](. [Jobeline] --------------------------------------------------------------- First up, we have a Burgundian white whose name does it justice—the 2018 Domaine de la Jobeline "Allure" Mâcon-Verzé is indeed a captivating Chardonnay. It received 96 points and a Gold Medal designation from Decanter’s World Wine Awards, as the panel praised its “sublime concentration” and “all-encompassing fresh acidity and finish.” Whites from Burgundy can often command stratospheric prices, but this southern appellation is known for providing excellent value for money, as evidenced by the sub-$25 price tag here. Next, we have a pair of high-scoring domestic Syrahs that show what this variety is capable of in the right hands. We have another appearance from Marietta Cellars in their 2018 "Gibson Block" McDowell Valley Mendocino Syrah that Wine Advocate awards 96 points, with reviewer Erin Brooks calling the wine “long and perfumed.” From further north, the 2017 K Vintners "The Deal - Sundance Vineyard" Wahluke Slope Syrah is another profound example of the variety, with Jeb Dunnuck noting in his 94-point review that “[i]t's another ethereal, complex, yet powerful wine...just seamless on the palate…” We move on to a Morgon "Côte du Py" vertical by “one of the superstars of Morgon,” Domaine Jean Foillard. This Beaujolais stalwart produces wines that are benchmarks for the region, and we’re lucky enough to have three back-to-back vintages so you can compare and contrast. From the 2017 that William Kelley for Wine Advocate calls a “great success,” to the 2018 that James Suckling calls “[o]ne of the best wines I have ever had from here,” to the 2019 that Suckling says is “[a]n intensely mineral expression of Beaujolais” with “[g]reat aging potential,” you can’t go wrong with any of the wines on offer here. Or better yet, collect all three. Initial [2019 allocations are available]( from cult-caliber Burgundy superstar Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. Their white wines have been among the most popular of any producer in Burgundy, from the over-delivering St. Aubin 1er Crus to the best-in-class Bourgogne Blanc. But in a vintage like 2019, the reds should also be on everybody’s radar. The “Aux Boudots” from one of the region's most treasured 1er Crus is highlighted below and bound to be an absolute stunner, but these are all not-to-be-missed examples of rare and refined Burgundy.
