We've had several new containers arrive this week, which translates into an impressive bounty of wines from which to choose. Kicking things off is a terrific value from Spain, the 2018 Vinos del Viento "Old Vine" Garnacha. It is an excellent bargain and the perfect pick for backyard grilling. At only $11.99, you can easily buy a case and stay well within your budget. Another terrific Spanish value is the 2016 Bodegas Casa Juan Señor de Lesmos Crianza Rioja. Rated 91 points and priced just under $13, it is a lot of wine for the money. One of the stars of our Direct Import program, this 2016 is fresh, inviting, and downright delicious. If you are a fan of Rioja, then this one needs to be in your regular rotation. Summer goes hand in hand with [Sancerre]( and we have some new arrivals no Loire Valley enthusiast will want to miss. The 2019s from Domaine Cherrier and Domaine de Côtes Blanches are fresh, spritely, and infinitely quaffable. Excellent on their own, this pair is also perfect with a wide range of lighter fare. Pricing under $20, means you can splurge and pick up a case to carry you through the warm months ahead. [Champagne]( is also well represented this week with new arrivals from such favorites as Launois and Ariston Aspasie. These direct-import gems count among some of the finest values in all of Champagne. Whether you are looking for a bottle to celebrate a special occasion, or simply want a food-friendly bubbly, these are the perfect pick. 2019 BORDEAUX FUTURES This year's [en primeur campaign]( is continuing full steam ahead, with some tremendous finds popping up for the savvy collector. Leading Bordeaux critic, Neal Martin, has validated our assessment that 2019 is a truly outstanding vintage. He writes: "Two thousand and nineteen is a great vintage...It is an excellent vintage." This excellence it readily found in the very affordably priced, potential 97-point Phélan-Ségur. A truly gorgeous rendition of this always superb St-Estèphe, it has James Suckling asking rhetorically, "Best ever?" La Gaffelière, Pape Clément, Calon-Ségur, Lynch-Bages, and Clos Fourtet all delivered landmark expressions, while remaining under the $100 mark. It is becoming clearer by the day that this is a vintage no collector should miss as many of the prices we're seeing are the best in years. This includes top-scoring expressions like the 2019 La Conseillante and 2019 Pavie—a wine Lisa Perotti-Brown of Wine Advocate describes as "shimmering with a kaleidoscope of electric flavors" in her potential 100-point score.
