No matter what, we still have cookies Sunday Recipe Inspiration with Rossi Batch 368 The baked good

No matter what, we still have cookies [Last Chance to Save 10%]( [logo]( Sunday Recipe Inspiration with Rossi Batch 368 [Chocolate Crinkles]( The baked good that means the most to me is a cookie. It's my yiayia's koulourakia, a twisted, crispy cookie ideal for dipping in coffee. My grandmother doesn't use a recipe, but rather makes them by feel — sometimes with an extra egg, or maybe a little less flour. Somehow, they turn out perfectly each time. None of my family members — myself included — have ever been able to replicate them. Though they're not holiday-related, I've been thinking about those koulourakia recently as we celebrated [Cookie Week]( on our blog. Their simple shaping reminded me of the [Brown Butter Stamp Cookies]( that Brook (our resident King Arthur cookie queen) wrote about in her post on cookie decorating for everyone, proving you don't need to be a master decorator (ahem, me!) to make something stunning. And Posie's post on gluten-free cookies reassured that any holiday favorite — whether it's a beloved family recipe or a classic like [Gluten-Free Buttery Snickerdoodles]( — can easily be made gluten-free so everyone in your life can enjoy. While conducting (very delicious) baking research to write about festive cookie plates, I wished I had a batch of those spiraled koulourakia, but snow-white [Chocolate Crinkles]( and colorful [Jam Blossoms]( looked just as stunning instead. And I may or may not have sent PJ's post on shipping cookies to my grandmother as a not-so-subtle hint — in the meantime, I'll keep chowing down on the unbelievably tasty [Salty-Sweet Butter Pecan Cookies]( PJ mailed me as a test run. If you're sending cookies to loved ones, I highly recommend including these. This holiday season is different than any other, and some traditions will have to be put on hold. Which makes it all the more comforting when some things — like holiday cookie baking — continue to live on.
