Capital Mining Acquires high grade cobalt project in Australia Medicinal Cannabis investment rights progress with BCC in North American onsite meetings Capital Mining Limited (ASX: CMY) has completed due diligence and exercised its option to acquire the advanced, high grade Scotia Cobalt-Nickel Project in the eastern goldfields of Western Australia. The acquisition provides Capital a second-to-none opportunity to unlock the major Cobalt potential of this Project at a time when Cobalt is in the midst of unprecedented demand and price growth – the price of Cobalt has increased by ~100% in the past year. Cobalt demand is expected to continue its rapid growth over the next decade, driven by the massive emerging battery technology sector, of which Cobalt is a key component. There is more cobalt by dollar value and weight in lithium-ion batteries than lithium. The Scotia Project represents a potentially highly value accretive acquisition for Capital. Previous exploration has focused largely on nickel, but drilling also identified widespread Cobalt mineralisation including significant intersections of 27.4m @ 0.06% Co and individual cobalt values of up to 0.47% Co. In addition a review of exploration data has identified highly anomalous cobalt across the project area, and four priority target areas have been identified to date – Capital will make immediate plans to drill these targets. The project also hosts numerous untested anomalies, which will also be targeted in the Company’s cobalt exploration programs. The Project is located in an active mineral province in close proximity to the major mining centre of Kalgoorlie, providing ready access to infrastructure and labour to rapidly advance the Project. Medicinal Cannabis Update Capital also advises and that directors of the Company are currently in North America to advance its negotiations Broken Coast Cannabis Limited (BCC) over a potential substantial investment in BCC. Capital recently agreed a settlement with BCC to finalise a prior dispute with BCC, and as part of the settlement has retained the rights to negotiate further investment in BCC. BCC is a leading, profitable Canadian medicinal cannabis producer and distributor, and the opportunity to invest in the growth of this highly successful medicinal cannabis business has potential to deliver strong value for Capital shareholders. Capital will continue to update the market on progress of its negotiations.
