No, Saturated Fat isn't Healthy for You!
Saturated fat has made a comeback of sorts in the last 5 years, after decades of being vilified by the nutrition community. Unfortunately, this revival is based on a wrong interpretation of scientific studies. We've written about this matter extensively, for example here.
In a nutshell: Replacing foods high in saturated fats with foods that contain unsaturated fats reduces the risk of heart disease. However, replacing foods high in saturated fats with foods that contain refined carbs doesn't change the risk much.

Are You Eating Enough Fish?
October was National Seafood Month, another made up marketing holiday set up to support America's fishing industry. That said, fish and seafood are healthy, lean sources of protein and other nutrients (omega-3 and vitamin D for example). The USDA recommends two servings of fish and seafood a week, but less than 10 percent of the population abides.
Part of the reason is that it's a bit more challenging to prepare fish compared to a piece of chicken, beef, or pork. When dealing with a whole fish, there is the issue of the bones, the skin, the head. That's why most Americans prefer filets of larger fish such as salmon or tuna. There is also the fishy smell that some people find repugnant, especially for food that has been prepared in advance and then reheated.
