I’ve heard from so many people who are hurting Dear friends, As this Omicron surge continues, we need to talk about the ways that this is impacting our community beyond our physical health. I’ve heard from so many families who had COVID-19 go through their whole household in the last few weeks and the impacts are difficult, even when the sickness itself was mild. CDC guidelines properly direct people to stay isolated, but that can be extremely hard. People need to skip work. Parents need to keep their kids home from school. Emotions are strained and families are struggling. My own family has felt this stress, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. This hurts our local economy, too. Some stores and restaurants have been forced to shut down temporarily as staff members have contracted the virus. People aren’t going out to spend their money at local small businesses as much when delivery options are more convenient. The long-term impacts of this Omicron surge are going to be felt for weeks if not months after case numbers come down. That’s why we need to look ahead not just at the ways to manage this pandemic, but also how to keep our economy going to support working families and small businesses. We need competent leaders who are willing to listen to expert advice and create the policies we need. I’m committed to helping our community through the pandemic itself and the economic effects that we all feel. [I’m asking for your help so that I can bring my ideas to the halls of Congress. Will you make a contribution to our efforts so that we can implement policies that will improve our community?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately. If we lose this race, though, Republicans will likely be in charge and they won’t lift a finger to help the families who are hurting right now.
