Iron Dome funding Dear friends, When I worked as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Defense in the Obama-Biden Administration, I was the lead official on the Iron Dome rocket defense system. This system has been extremely successful, saving countless lives by disabling rockets mid-flight. It’s considered a leap forward in defensive technology to keep the world safe, so much so that the U.S. is now implementing it to protect us and our troops. So why is Republican Senator Rand Paul blocking funding for the Iron Dome? [We need to send Senator Paul a message that blocking this defensive system is not okay. Will you sign our petition today?]( When I found the Iron Dome file rejected by the Bush Administration, I brought it to the attention of the Secretary of Defense and President Obama as an important opportunity to save civilian lives. At that time, it was promising, but we did not know it would become one of the successful defensive systems used on the planet. We need to continue funding this system to keep Americans and our allies safe. When I become a Member of Congress, I will stand up to protect civilians and will not block essential programs for the sake of political posturing. Senator Paul has put lives at risk, and we need to tell him to stop this political game.
