The Piney Point disaster demands justice Hi friends, Back in April, 215 million gallons of polluted water were pumped into Tampa Bay from the Piney Point phosphate plant. It was a dangerous and consequential move that threatened our entire ecosystem here in the Tampa Bay area. A federal lawsuit was rightfully filed against the state by the Center for Biological Diversity, Tampa Bay Waterkeeper, Suncoast Waterkeeper, Manasota-88, and Our Children’s Earth Foundation. They allege that Governor DeSantis and other state officials have long mishandled the site and violated the federal Clean Water Act. [DeSantis just asked a federal judge to toss out the lawsuit so that his administration can avoid being held accountable for their actions.]( Our environment must be protected if we hope to create a sustainable future for our children, and I’m committed to implementing stronger safeguards at the federal level. [If you support us in this effort, please consider contributing to our campaign today to help bring my advocacy to protect our environment to Washington.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be processed immediately. It will likely cause deadly algae blooms again that disrupt our local economy, and endanger the health of people and animals in the surrounding area. Governor DeSantis, local agencies, and private businesses cannot be allowed to get away with polluting our waterways and disregarding safety standards. [I hope you’ll join me in standing up to fight to protect our environment.]( Thank you, Eric Lynn [Contribute]( [Facebook]( [Twitter]( [Instagram]( [Web Site]( Paid for by Eric Lynn for Congress Eric Lynn for Congress PO Box 16991 St. Petersburg, FL 33733 United States If you believe you received this message in error or wish to no longer receive email from us, please [unsubscribe](.
