$1.99 eBook Sale, Recipe of the Week, & More [View as webpage]( [Books for Better Living]( Hello Readers, Would you consider yourself a plant lover? I absolutely adore plants, and not just for the obvious reasons such as making our air cleaner and enhancing the aesthetic of our homes and office spaces. I also cherish my plants because they provide a service for me that goes beyond the norm. They act as a barometer — a perfect gauge of my emotional state. When my plants are thriving, it is because I am thriving. If my plants are wilted, that is a sign that I need to look inward. Here is how it works: When I am living in the present moment, I show up as an active participant in my life. I am alert and receptive to my surroundings, which enables me to look after myself and other things responsibly. However, when I am distracted or unhappy, life tends to "happen" to me. I tend to disregard everything and everyone except the thoughts that plague me — making me less likely to notice or make time for the things that matter. Fortunately, nothing snaps me out of an emotional slump like the sight of wilted leaves on an otherwise healthy plant. As a plant parent, it is my responsibility [to care for the green life within my home](. Much like my plants, all I need is some attention and a little sunshine to lift my spirits (nothing is more mood elevating than a warm, sunny day). I once heard Oprah say, "Sunlight is the best disinfectant." It certainly is a cure-all for my plants and me. Speaking of sunshine, we'd like to spread a little your way. Here is this week's 5 to Thrive. Enjoy!
