I hope you had an excellent week! This week was pretty intense for me. I recorded four interviews for the show (they are bangers) had several 1-on-1 calls with new members of [The Lab](=), and moved the ball forward on some tax planning – all the while trying to make progress on producing [Build A Beloved Membership.](=) Unfortunately, I touched the stove. "Touched the stove" is what I say when I push myself to the limits of my personal capacity. I always learn my limits the hard way. By the end of the day Thursday, I was completely physically and emotionally spent. A shell of myself and not the best husband or pet dad. And on Friday, I was far less productive than I would've liked and spent most of the day recuperating. I don't share this for pity – but I share it to show you that ALL creators are susceptible to overcommitment and some degree of burnout. I see it everywhere. I hear it from members of the community. And one of the biggest causes of burnout for creators is a lack of restraint. More on that in this week's (mini) essay below. [Sponsor Image]() PRESENTED BY PROJECT.CO The best way to simplify project management This powerful project management tool is designed specifically for creators and service businesses. Every day, maybe multiple times per day, we're coming up with new ideas that could work. And don't get me wrong – this is also our creative blessing! Throughout your life, you will select a portfolio of new ideas that you will, in fact, pursue. But the number of ideas you pursue is far fewer than the number of ideas that you'll have. Statistically speaking, you will walk away from the vast majority of your ideas. In this week's mini-essay, I want to talk to you about embracing restraint. Inspiring to watch the process. (8 mins) --------------------------------------------------------------- 📅 [SavvyCal]() – I had a moment of appreciation for SavvyCal this week. I use this tool for scheduling podcast interviews, consulting requests, and any other 1-on-1 calls. It's just such a gift. I switched from Calendly and haven't looked back. Proud Affiliate --------------------------------------------------------------- 📹 [What Disney Can Teach MrBeast](=) – This week, I interviewed Logan Paul's former editor, Hayden Hillier-Smith. This week, we crossed 150 members in [The Lab](=). With a member cap of 200, that means we're now at 75% capacity! It's exciting and it's bittersweet – but the bottom line is we'll likely hit capacity by the end of the year (at least temporarily). This week, I sent out our first Member Survey and the results have been so positive and so insightful. I've already identified a couple of ways to improve The Lab based on this feedback – so it's a [great time to join](=)! Of course, zero pressure or expectation. Thanks for reading and I'll talk to you next week!
