a few hours left I love the end of the year, because I tend to procrastinate until cold weather hits

a few hours left [View in browser](=.nCJV1W7tyIE1_3lWwQP-ki8mD8M0-u0CG7W4BE49o3A) I love the end of the year, because I tend to procrastinate until cold weather hits and then flail around getting a lot done before the new year. But I also have a habit of putting off enjoyable, creative work - in favor of real, "work-work." And that's really not great. That's one of the reasons I love Nanowrimo (national novel writing month) - because it makes the idea of quitting everything else for 30 days and prioritizing your own writing palatable and empowering, when at any other time it could be seen as selfish or irresponsible. Now that it's October, I'm starting to get organized so I can make the best use of November, and part of that is gathering up the best writing tools and resources. I'm going to share some of those with you this month and a few are brand new, and pretty cool. You can start with these:=.z4nLqmu8Wd97YJT3mzoOEB3WeWZ7GRAgrDkPnHvesUI[1. The Writer's Treasure Trove (get it all free)](=.IAGydwrcxkXC2J2wZgo7swuAS4KpQTePfDchRRPKLBk) It's a small collection of free resources - unfortunately I screwed up and it's only free *today* so I'm sending this email late, but I hope you have a chance to get access in case it's useful. There's an optional writing course offered in a few weeks as well.=.TbD1-xPe9pLkSJTc2FKJoEIOClMscvDqErU-OUvviek [2. Fiction Marketing Academy](=.7pKqNM4SckQNzfQPDSrdj3HADQn38geEdSnbr-_JzNY) This one is marketing-focused, but there are some talks on writing as well; I don't think I'm speaking this time but all my pals are there. It's basically a free online symposium of publishing wisdom - however it already started so you may need to upgrade if you need replays of the first couple days. Talk soon! Derek Murphy PS - there's never a "best time" to write a book. It's always a crazy amount of effort that leaves you exhausted. Some people can schedule in an hour a day... I tend to either go all or nothing, which means I have writing months and non-writing months. Until you're making a full time living as a writer - and few of us are - that means juggling creative work with work that pays. But you *have* to do that, to finish enough work to make a living. I'll tell you more about my November project soon and ask about yours... so maybe think about what bookish project you'd like to finish this year - and yes there's still time! But only you can decide that it's worth it. =.Mu5fQqWYrlq84QZl9xZe4il48bgFibv98WZIyroVOug [Share to Facebook](=.jb6eCM5fMpFcVSND7PT-grCW7lfjDgee1Szc881w--8) =.qy7HdA3JfCzZYfe95dD5CrJg58oivHkdFZS9k09IZOA [Share to Twitter](=.G49_q_sNwLMoy9WQkiyj_OIO_824omLhk1-5gqUjNJo) =.PnIZc5SAJDl3gGTeiDATsU-pDCXDfRMsyj2DKDD3Tos [Forward email](=.5gh5q5Xd2pglH3lehUrX6CmaLSQu9DcNW12nDJm5VRY) Do not want to see it again?
