writing motivation I'd hoped to write a fantasy novel by the beach this summer, but my wife realized

writing motivation [View in browser](=.DrsQnVnOMotIC_THJbsRokUCiMlTv9QvjfLT70NX12s) I'd hoped to write a fantasy novel by the beach this summer, but my wife realized I had to renew my passport before leaving the country... and now it's September. No vacay for me, but I have been working and I realized something important. While I'd planned to launch some kind of summer writing camp, I've heard from a lot of you that you really needed more long-term, ongoing structure to stay motivated. All too often, writing is something we avoid or put off, because we don't have that external support or hard limitations in place that forces us to do the work. And it does feel like work sometimes, which is why I'm doing everything I can to lighten the burden. I didn't feel comfortable running a summer sale on my writing program, if I wasn't available to actively participate - even though I know my writing resources and materials are pretty great - because you need *more* than education, you need a classroom environment with structured tasks, goals, assignments and feedback. I love the idea of running a program like that, but I'm not quite ready for that kind of commitment. So instead, I took some of the most important videos from my "Bestseller Blueprint" course and put them on YouTube for free. There are about 14 hours of in-depth, advanced writing insights, so pace yourself :) And please comment with any questions, I'm definitely planning to create some updated resources soon. The video below is part of [a larger playlist](=.4zt0BJzWgaUvMly7uomkhEwpmU_xBdspdg1Y2-LtYSw), so you might want to start at the beginning. =.8WwYdpH0FxzSobkaBiHCZC-wFNvNmmYn6I0Q6Vo_L1E I've also started the process of revising all of my nonfiction books, and I'll be sharing them with you over the next few weeks. The Plot Dot was my first little guide to plotting fiction. It's concise, but valuable enough to have earned over 500 reviews. And it's [free on Amazon](=.OHvYzAWznQj2wr0T1j9mOZvD8MzIeDH-v1imYsPA4S4). I took the most important, critical writing tips I’ve developed, and added them into the PlotDot, so now it’s more than just a simple plotting guide. It also has some tips on character development, conflict, tension, suspense, twists and story reveals, and more. =.AYhI17_vZt6vLrOdySbPJMlbYnGzGjI3BZkVY_6ftyw I also made a print version, which should serve as a writing journal or novel planner you can use to outline a new project. It’s a great little gift to support a young or old writer in your life. But I’d love feedback: I’m not sure if I should *also* add my full [24 chapter](=.t_XaD6BRJ8_aMC-gGmnTHiQK1RBGwuL6s2UDUHs02FY) outline, or develop it even more as a useful writing journal, so your reviews or comments are appreciated. And again… it’s 100% free, you can even download and print it off yourself [with this PDF](=.WE_FdAHne7zB2JdyDzGDLM6Vf67dDRzFTo8bmZ_LSXA). My plan was to tackle some more advanced writing and self-editing tips this summer, and switch to book marketing this fall; but since I screwed that up, I'm hoping all these free resources will be useful. It's never too late to finish or fix a book, though doing everything on your own can be more difficult, these writing tips and templates should make it a lot easier to write the best version of your story. In a few weeks, I'll let you know how I grew a new youtube channel for my audiobooks to 100K views a month and how I accidentally got 1.3 million Pinterest views, so stay tuned! PS. I have templates for [nonfiction and memoir](=.Ms37JyzasoeNBwyfiUTosYjHyEDpDq63Vz2DUCJVXpo) too. Stay Creative! Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
