the truth about AI writing [View in browser](=.8NULYmZ2SgEc2GEiIhIT7wIr5IRnL5Sg0mekkpOcRZI) I've seen this meme circulating so I thought I'd share; this author sums up neatly how a lot of us writers feel about AI... Except here's the thing... Most of us can imagine how, we wouldn't mind robots doing *some* things for us, just not the fun, creative stuff. Writing and publishing books, however, isn't always fun. It also involves a lot of banal, tedious tasks that we actively hate, but are expected to do anyway, even if we loathe them. So we end up paying someone just to get them off our plates or more likely, just let them slide; failing to do things that could really work because we just can't be bothered. You should make a list of tasks you want to be doing, and tasks you do not want to be doing. Focus on the joy and passion... and the things you absolutely detest. Pay special attention to your mood and feelings and vibe. If certain tasks don't spark joy, ruthlessly cut them out of your life... or farm them out to a cheap robot replacement as a potential trial run. These might be things that aren't worth hiring an expert to resolve, but you'd consider letting the robots clear your plate for you. I don't want AI to write my books for me. I want it to do my dishes. If that's something you'd also be interested in exploring, starting tomorrow there's a 4 day "AI Writing Summit," which should be free to join but only if you sign up quickly. Stay Creative! Derek Murphy @creativindie PS. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
