Copywriting isn’t a paint by numbers process {NAME}. You can’t simply follow a formula and expect brilliant copywriting to follow. What copywriting formulas give you is a starting point; a framework you can make your own. That’s what’s awesome about copywriting. While marketing techniques are adapting to technology, copywriting still focuses on people and what motivates us hasn’t changed much since the Mad Men took over. We still need to make sure our survival needs are met, we still want to be loved and admired and when all those things are taken care of we still search for meaning and purpose. Because those things haven’t changed, the copywriting formulas that have been tried and tested for decades still work today. Let’s keep the baby not the bathwater eh? Tomorrow, I want to share one of my favourites: the Problem-Agitate-Solve (PAS) formula. For now, just know that using tools like copywriting formulas and swipe files is SMART! Belinda My Copywriting Master Class shows you how to use formulas like this in your copy. Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
