Hey {NAME}, We’ve gone back in time… process time… from talking about having a professional looking copy deck to getting a great brief. Some clients get a bit intimidated by the process but taking the time to get a great brief is the rock-solid foundation of great copy. What goes into the brief? [POOF OF MAGIC] How about I share mine with you? [This blog post has all the questions I ask and the reasons I ask them.](=) Yes, it’s very detailed. I spend at least an hour talking through the information to tease out more detail and nudge clients towards important marketing realisations. The best part is that I usually find some copywriting gold in my client’s own words. That's what a great copywriter does - tease out the gold. So next time you’re grilling a client during the initial brief, remember that the detail will set a strong path that leads to mind-blowing copywriting. How does your brief compare? Can you see any gaps? Or maybe you’ve picked up some great questions to add to your own brief? Let me know. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
