[Consumer Reports]   Dear Friend, We have a huge announcement to share: after months of consumers like you speaking out, and pressure from Consumer Reports, parents and policymakers, major retailers Amazon, Walmart and Target have all announced they are pulling water bead toys from their store shelves and online platforms. This is a huge win for consumer safety and protecting kids - especially at the height of the holiday shopping season! Will you help us spread the word about this important consumer victory, and remind your friends and family not to buy water beads this holiday season?   Click here to share the message on:  [Facebook »](   [X (Twitter) »](  Water beads are tiny, colorful, gel balls that expand in water up to 100 times their size. Thousands of toddlers and children have been sent to the ER after ingesting them, where they then expand and cause blockages of airways and digestive tracts. Just this month, we learned that a 9-month-old in Arizona found and swallowed a single water bead that ballooned in his intestine and required emergency surgery to remove. We can’t get these dangerous products off the market soon enough. Consumer Reports commends the companies that are taking action, and urges them to enforce their policies diligently to keep kids safe. We also strongly recommend to anyone who has water beads in their homes to throw them away immediately.  Thank you for sharing this message with your online community, and all you do to fight for a safer marketplace.   Have a happy and safe holiday season, Meg BohneConsumer Reports [Unsubscribe from Consumer Reports action alerts.]( © 2022 Consumer Reports, 101 Truman Avenue, Yonkers, NY, 10703 [Contact Consumer Reports](
