[Consumer Reports]   Friend, We have a make or break moment this week to protect children nationwide from getting hurt or even killed. And you can play a critical role, Friend, because your U.S. Senator is one of a handful of members casting a key vote. [Will you give your Senator a push to vote YES on the STURDY Act when it comes up for a vote Wednesday in committee?]( This bill will help prevent deadly tip-overs by setting new standards for safer, sturdier dressers and other clothing storage furniture.  [Send your message](  Consumer Reports has been working with parents who have lost children to these tragic incidents, members of Congress, and furniture manufacturers for more than four years to get to this critical point. If the Senate Commerce Committee fails to pass the bill this week, countless more children could be at risk because of the delay. Since 2000, hundreds of children have died in furniture tip-overs, and an average of six kids a day are rushed to the emergency room after a chest, bureau, or dresser tips over onto them. Despite this, the furniture industry has historically resisted changes to make dressers less likely to tip over – but we have finally reached a compromise! Now, we need to apply public pressure on the Senate Commerce Committee, of which your U.S. Senator is a member, to pass this bill. [Can you help us get this life-saving measure closer to the finish line by sending a quick message now?](  [Send your message](  We have critical momentum and we need as many people as possible to contact their Senator. Can you forward this to friends and family in your state so they can send a message, too? Thank you for all that you do to make sure every family has what they need to keep their children safe at home.
