[View in browser]( [youtube]( [twitter]( Hey friends! [Chris Sev]( here. It's been a very busy week. Launched the Productive VS Code course with the new Better Dev Pro membership. Big thanks to everyone that has checked out the course and supported! If you weren't interested in last week's launch, do you have any feedback for me? Not interested in VS Code? Not interested in a membership? Constructive criticism helps! Unexpected Launch Tasks No matter how many times I've launched a product or course, there's always some things to adjust at launch. This launch made me realize that some people don't want to join with a membership and would rather pay a one-time price. So I spent 3 hours on launch day adding Stripe Payments. Not something I was expecting! Membership vs One-Time Courses A membership launch is very different than the previous course launches. Where the Beginner Tailwind and Make React Apps courses made 10k+ on day 1, this Productive VS Code course and Better Dev Pro has only made about 1k. Lower numbers were expected since this is a membership and I'm in it for the long haul. The problems with the one-time course launches is that 90% of sales come at launch and then the course disappears. New articles + videos every week is the name of the membership game. Let's embrace the grind! 😍 Favorite Links this Week [Sanity.io hiring for devrel]( [VS Code Update has Bracket Colorizing built-in]( [VS Code Update has inlay hints]( (I turned them off) [Why are hyperlinks blue?]( [7 little big JavaScript tips]( 😍 New Better Dev Content New Videos - 👉 [20 Best VS Code Themes]( - 🟣 PRO: [Refactoring in VS Code]( New Articles - React: [URL Parameters with React Router]( - VS Code: [Welcome to VS Code]( - VS Code: [Installing VS Code]( - VS Code: [UI Walkthrough]( - VS Code: [Command Palette]( - [6 Ways to Screenshot Your Code]( Added video chapters for - UI Walkthrough - Command Palette Next Up - Adding the Faster w/ Emmet course - Adding the Beginner JavaScript course Favorite Tweet of the Week [maaike]( [maaike]( [@photonoty_codes]( [View on Twitter]( Shoutout to another VS Code theme I've been using for a few days now (yes, I switched from Lucy 😲): Moonlight II! The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
