[View in browser]( [youtube]( [twitter]( Hey friends! [Chris Sev]( here. In the last newsletter, I talked about prepping for dad mode. Well so was the baby! [She decided to show up 5 weeks before her due date!]( It's been quite the adventure these past 2 weeks. Kap's water broke around 1:30am. Baby born 10 hours later. Baby was in the NICU for 8 days. She's finally home now (mom and baby healthy) and we're settling in. Re-evaluating a lot of my productivity tactics now that time is even more essential. I'll write up on what I've learned about productivity being a parent. Get ready [baby 'Ailana](. You're gonna learn some code! ---------- [Better.Dev]( just hit 90k monthly Google Search clicks! Site is now up to 185k pageviews/mo. I still believe that the best way to build an audience and business is through blogging. [We also hit 20k on YouTube!]( 😍 2 new from [better.dev]( Slower on making new content and the Beginner Next.js course because of the new baby. Figuring out a schedule and getting back to it. - 🔴 [VS Code's most underrated feature]( - [Using Tailwind Flexbox]( 🤖 5 favorite links - [Next.js 12.1]( brings a new way to pick and choose what pages to statically regenerate - [CodeSandbox SandPack](: Embeddable coding environments - [State of JS 2021](: I feel like the 2020 one just happened! - [Google Earth Studio]( - [LNO Effectiveness Framework](: I'm re-evaluating how I prioritize my tasks with the LNO framework 🚀 What I built this week Tracking Course Progress [Samuel]( did the backend work so that we can track what videos a user has watched. I'll work it into the UI soon. New ["Buy a Course" and "Go Pro" modals]( Took some work getting the design right. I always felt like the flow was off since the modal immediately asked people to create an account without telling them what they were getting. Now the modal shows what you'll get and eases you into account creation. Upgraded Stripe to the new [PaymentElement]( Gives users the option to pay via Google Pay and Apple Pay. It's still not PayPal, but it helps. PayPal API is notoriously not fun to work with, but PayPal did account for 20% of sales when we were on Podia. Hopefully Google/Apple Pay can help bridge the gap without working with PayPal. Added Confetti Added a confetti party when user purchases or goes pro.
