🟨 Scope creep is here. Course launch delayed... again

Here's some updates on building a course platform and I'm also adding a "This Week's Stats" at the end of this email for traffic + financials. Transparency ftw! Beware of scope creep friends. Whatever you think a project will take, 5x that estimation. But it's all good. This is turning out to be one of my favorite dev projects. An accumulation of everything I've ever learned in one spot. Coding has been good to me (personal and financial). I hope that I can pass on some knowledge to you so that coding can help you all achieve your goals. Sorry if I missed your emails! ✅ Redesigned course pages and ripped off YouTube design (people already know the YouTube layout. users like seeing what they're used to. see [Don't Make Me Think for UI/UX]( tips. great [book]( in the beginning of my design career) ✅ Switched from Muse to [Vimeo](: Muse is amazing but embedding in React was not the best experience. Vimeo also a tad cheaper in the long run and provides stats ✅ The flow of watching a video preview → seeing the pro signup (picture below) ✅ Finalized the /pro page (picture below) 🚧 Porting content! VS Code course is coming along 🚧 Free JS course is on the site too (and captions added thanks to [Descript]() 🚧 Pro [Discord]( channels in the works. Better Dev Pro is as much about community as it is about content/courses ❌ Emails: Onboarding and welcome emails need writing and figuring out how to do the automation. I'm thinking [MailerLite]( although I would love to bring in [Intercom]( for their [user journey tracking]( so we can award shirts+stickers for completing courses, etc. Intercom is more than I want to pay at 119/mo ❌ New home page design that focuses on courses ❌ Announcement blog post All feedback is welcome!
