This month's updates from The BELE Network [View this email in your browser]( Greetings, BELE family: We’re excited to share our [newly updated Essential Actions](. These are designed to provide a shared gameplan to support us all—from educators to policymakers to community members—in using the power we each hold to create a more equitable, just, and supportive education system. Building a system that works for all students requires all of us to: - Make systems human-centered: Design systems and structures that promote positive relationships, collaboration, and student-centered learning. - Transform teaching and learning: Create positive learning conditions to transform students’ daily experience. - Empower youth: Listen to, understand, and respond to the voices and experiences of students. - Partner with caregivers and communities: Authentically partner with communities to transform students’ daily experiences. - Invest in staff: Ensure that all educators feel supported, valued, and prepared. - Measure what matters: Gather, analyze, and respond to feedback and data on student learning. - Create equitable policies: Adopt policies that center students’ experiences and voices. By implementing these seven Essential Actions in our own spheres of influence, we can improve the experiences of every young person.
