{NAME}, the GOP is trying to destroy democracy. [BTE Logo]( [BTE Endorses Daniel Ortiz Graphic]( {NAME}, When first I decided to run for office, I never imagined that I would be running without knowing what my district looked like. Over the past weeks and months, it became clear that this may be my reality -- and the reality of candidates across the state trying to serve their communities. After the courts struck down three proposed maps here in Ohio, the Republican-controlled legislature held back-door meetings circumventing the legislative process to forcibly put in place unconstitutional maps. Not only that, we STILL don’t even know when our election will be. Legislative candidates were removed from the May 3rd primary ballot, and no one knows what will happen next. It is clear the GOP does not care about fair elections or representation. That’s why it is important for candidates like me to have a platform to speak on these issues and get elected. Without these decisions in place, there is a lot I don’t know in regards to my campaign plan. So what am I doing? I’m putting my head down, building my grassroots army, and fundraising my heart out -- one dollar at a time -- so that when the maps are decided, I'm ready to go.
