Apple Announces iPhone 12 Models and HomePod Mini, Most Recent Apps on Sale

Hi {NAME}, Apple held an event earlier this week to announce the next generation of iPhones and also revealed a smaller, less-expensive HomePod smart speaker. As expected, Apple's iPhone 12 models will be faster and have better cameras. They also gain 5G connectivity to take advantage of faster data transfer speeds on carriers who have been expanding and improving their cellular networks. The new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models have flat edges (reminiscent of the iPhone 4), 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR displays, Apple's latest A14 Bionic chip, and 5G radios. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display and it gets an extra camera lens plus a LiDAR scanner that improves its autofocus and Night Mode capabilities. Apple also revealed the iPhone 12 Mini, a 5.4-inch device with nearly identical specs to the standard iPhone 12 with the exception of slightly less battery life. Pricing for the iPhone 12 Mini starts at $699, while the iPhone 12 starts at $799. The Pro model starts at $999 and the Pro Max model starts at $1,099. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro opened this morning in the US and 30 other countries, and the devices will be available starting on October 23. Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini will start on the morning of November 6, with deliveries and wider availability starting on November 13. The new HomePod mini speaker will cost just $99 and offers similar features to the original HomePod like Siri, Apple Music access, and the ability to make a stereo pair with a second HomePod mini. Pre-orders for the smaller speaker will begin on November 6, with availability starting on November 13.
