Over 100 days of destruction in Gaza [View in Browser]( [Amnesty International candle logo]( [ACT: WEAPONS FUNDED BY U.S. TAXPAYER DOLLARS ARE KILLING CIVILIANS IN GAZA]( {NAME}: For over 100 days now, we have witnessed mass suffering on a devastating scale, and while our global Amnesty movement is calling for a ceasefire, we must also [immediately stop the complicity of the United States in the bombardment of civilians in Gaza.]( After searching through the rubble of destroyed homes in central Gaza following two strikes that killed a total of 43 civilians — 19 children, 14 women and 10 men — Amnesty found distinctive fragments of U.S.-made weapons. These U.S.-made weapons are being used by the Israeli military in indiscriminate or direct attacks on civilians and civilian objects. New legislation has been introduced that would increase Congressional scrutiny of U.S. military funding by mandating a report from the Biden administration on human rights violations committed by the Israeli government. This resolution would be an important step towards ensuring that the U.S. government takes accountability and suspends the transfer of weapons that are facilitating the mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza. [Urge your Senators to vote YES on this resolution so that our taxpayer dollars aren’t used to commit war crimes.]( [It takes one minute to send your letter today using our simple tool, and it could help save civilian lives in Gaza.]( [SEND YOUR LETTER]( Suleiman Salman al-Najjar spoke to Amnesty about an Israeli airstrike that hit his family home. He told us that his wife Susanne Subhi Asalam Najjar was killed along with four of their children: daughters Safa (17 months) and Farah (23), and sons Yazan (14) and Nadim (20). “I rushed home and saw a scene of utter destruction. I could not believe my eyes. Everybody was under the rubble. The house was completely pulverized. The bodies were reduced to shreds.” U.S.-made weapons are being used in attacks that are indiscriminately killing Palestinian civilians, and we must demand a stop to it. [We urgently need at least 1,000 voices of human rights activists like you to help pass this resolution — send your letter today.]( [ACT NOW]( Thank you, Elizabeth Rghebi Advocacy Director, Middle East North Africa Amnesty International USA P.S. For over 100 days, we’ve heard the voices of our Amnesty community united loudly against indiscriminate attacks on civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and in Israel. We won’t stop working to verify violations of the laws of war, to raise awareness of those violations, and to demand a ceasefire. [A donation from you today will help Amnesty mobilize to protect the lives of civilians.]( [DONATE NOW]( © 2024 Amnesty International USA 311 W 43rd Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10036 | 1-800-AMNESTY Please don't reply to this email.
