Families are in crisis — your gift is TRIPLED to help [View in Browser]( [Amnesty International candle logo]( [Special Update:]( {NAME}, this is important. We typically spend the last few days of the year sharing our special $3-for-$1 match — and [you still have a chance to triple the impact of your support today]( — but first we have an update for you on the continuing crisis in Gaza, the other Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Israel. As of this morning, nearly 21,000 people have been killed in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel. 129 people are still being held as hostages by Hamas. 2 million Palestinians — half of them children — remain under siege without food, water, fuel, and electricity. For many of us, this time means gathering with family in the warmth of our homes or preparing for New Year’s celebrations, but for people in Gaza, where the bombardment and bloodshed is nonstop, these kinds of comforts are unimaginable. As one survivor in Gaza told Amnesty: “There is nothing here and now we are left with nothing and are displaced. I don’t know how much worse things will get. Could it get any worse?” 1 Since the start of this crisis, your support as an advocate for human rights has powered Amnesty’s crisis response, including work to: - Visit the sites of attacks to document the aftermath and gather accounts of survivors to bring attention to the devastation and document evidence of war crimes and widespread violations of human rights; - Lead a global campaign to call for a ceasefire to end the suffering. We’ve collected more than a million signatures and delivered our message directly to the White House; - Work with international authorities to expedite ongoing investigations to hold all parties accountable for war crimes and other crimes under international law For months, our movement has been making sure the world sees the atrocities — so that, one day, the attacks will end and human rights will be respected. While our leaders fail to live up to their responsibility to prevent and end atrocities, we’ve shown up every day for people at risk. Thank you for the support you’ve provided in the past. It’s people like you who have helped us shine a light on atrocities and campaign for human rights. If you want to renew the impact of your incredible support, you can today. [Until the end of the year, your emergency gift will go 3X as far to expose injustice, demand action, and save lives »]( [YOUR GIFT IS 3X MATCHED TO STRENGTHEN AMNESTY'S CRISIS RESPONSE]( With each day that passes more lives will be lost and the catastrophe in Gaza will get worse, all while the remaining hostages remain unaccounted for. Countless lives have already been shattered, ripped apart, and upended. And now, children and families are facing a brutal winter without warmth or a place to call home. [Donate to send triple the support to help stop the suffering and protect human rights today and in the weeks to come.]( Time is of the essence — thank you, Elizabeth Rghebi Advocacy Director, Middle East North Africa Amnesty International USA [1] [DONATE NOW]( © 2023 Amnesty International USA 311 W 43rd Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10036 | 1-800-AMNESTY Please don't reply to this email.
