Help respond to crisis in Sudan [View in Browser]( [Amnesty International candle logo]( [Graphic of progress to goal. We urgently need to hit this goal, and we only have one week left until this 2X match expires. Will you get us there with your 2X gift?]( {NAME}, don’t look away. What’s happening right now in Sudan echoes the atrocities in Darfur 20 years ago, and the world hasn’t seemed to notice. The media doesn’t seem to care about the thousands of civilians who have been killed, or the millions who have been forced to flee. For most families, safety has been impossible to find, and there is no hope in sight. Amnesty has been documenting the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians as well as rape and sexual abuse against women and girls. We’ve also rushed assistance to protect human rights defenders on the ground. Our response to crises like these will only go as far as you and this movement will take us. Now, while others ignore this humanitarian crisis, you can show up to help. [This is an emergency request, and you can help with a gift that goes TWICE as far today to respond to human rights violations in Sudan and around the world »]( [Rush a 2X gift to power our crisis response]( I lead our work to campaign against human rights violations in Africa, and I can say definitively that the international community isn’t responding to the crisis in Sudan with nearly enough attention and action. But Amnesty is one of the primary organizations that is still there, shining a light on the crisis. We are meeting with survivors, documenting abuses, and putting pressure on governments and world leaders to bring justice. I’m reaching out to you because I know we can count on you to respond when our leaders and others won’t. [I hope you’ll make a matched tax-deductible gift toward our $200,000 goal to power 2X more advocacy, 2X more campaigns, and 2X more action to protect human rights in 2024](. The suffering in Sudan and human rights and humanitarian crises in other African countries including Ethiopia and Democratic Republic of Congo may not get the news coverage they deserve, but we still know what’s happening. There are families, children, and elderly grandparents who are seeking refuge from the relentless violence, and they are counting on us. [Will you join us in refusing to let human rights violations go unnoticed and ensuring that people in crisis won’t be forgotten?]( [Double the power of your gift]( Thank you for continuing to advocate for those at most risk in the world, Kate Hixon Advocacy Director for Africa Amnesty International USA [DONATE NOW]( © 2023 Amnesty International USA 311 W 43rd Street, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10036 | 1-800-AMNESTY Please don't reply to this email.
