Amnesty is still responding to the crisis in Afghanistan — send your support [View in Browser]( [PROTECT AFGHAN CHILDREN]( [Protect Afghan children]( [SEND EMERGENCY SUPPORT]( Here’s a sad truth, {NAME}: With the world’s eyes on Ukraine, we risk forgetting about other populations at risk. We cannot forget about the people of Afghanistan. When the Taliban seized power, we knew things were going to get very bad, very quickly — and tragically, they have. The country is experiencing one of the worst hunger crises the world has seen. Afghans experienced an unusually cold winter and the worst drought in decades — and 95% of civilians are now living without enough food. More than three million children are on the brink of famine, and hospitals are full of premature and dying babies, many weighing less than two pounds. We may never know the full scale of human suffering in Afghanistan. Mothers are unable to feed their children. Activists are terrified someone with a gun will come knocking at their door. Girls are traumatized. {NAME}, if individuals like you respond swiftly and compassionately, we can save lives and work to prevent further violations of human rights. [We’re counting on our grassroots supporters to help us continue to fight for Afghan families. Donate now to keep our crisis response work going.]( While the world may have moved on, we cannot. We will not. [YOUR GIFT IS URGENTLY NEEDED]( Our teams are working day in and day out to help Afghans facing unimaginable suffering and human rights violations. Since August, we’ve helped secure $6 billion in funding for humanitarian protection and resettlement of Afghans. We encouraged the Biden administration to increase the number of refugees accepted into the U.S. And, we directly supported Afghan women’s rights defenders on the ground with financial assistance, through our Global Relief Fund. We’re proud of that, but it’s not enough. There is significantly more work to be done. And that work requires additional resources and funding — now. With the strength of our movement, we can provide a lifeline to those who are losing hope. When you contribute to Amnesty, you’re funding our crisis responders, our researchers, and our global advocacy on behalf of the millions of Afghans whose rights and survival are at risk. [Your gift today can have an impact for Afghan malnourished children and babies struggling to survive. Please give now so we can continue our lifesaving work.]( Thank you for helping us bring hope to those living through unimaginable suffering and fear.
