I'm sitting on a train from Milan to Turin in Italy writing this. I've been typing on trains all over the world for over 20 years. It's a true joy, but it's not just for fun. I've used trains as offices to write many blog posts and email newsletters, just like this one I am writing to you now. My content has reached hundreds of thousands of people globally thanks to the power of the Internet. A small percentage of these people also made the decision to purchase one of my training programs. As a result, I've sold over $2.5 million dollars of digital training products. What Is This Business Model? This business model is simple. It relies on two things: 1. Your Blog 2. Your Newsletter There is also a third partner who plays a big role -- Google. I stumbled upon this business model after learning how to use content to reach people. My first taste of this was actually not from a blog, but from an essay editing agency I founded. The agency had a website. I wrote articles on that website to rank for specific terms in Google search. I optimized for many local search queries, for example 'Essay Editing Sydney', which had far less competition so I could easily rank in one of the first positions. As a result, 50% of the customers of my editing agency came from Google. When I started a blog I began by writing articles sharing my advice and what I was learning about internet business. Again, people found these articles through Google search, and thus found me and my blog. However, these people didn't stick around. It wasn't until I added an email newsletter that I came to appreciate the power of having a subscriber base. The ability to email subscribers, just as I am emailing you now, gave me a permanent connection to bring people back to my content. I had to learn how to become a better storyteller, teacher and copywriter to sell my products, but having the blog and the email newsletter gave me the playground to practice. Newsletter Are Having A Moment (Again) You're probably hearing a lot about email newsletters lately. No doubt you subscribe to a few as well. Even though email is old tech, people still use it every day. This is why many people are launching newsletters to cover niche topics. For example, I recently subscribed to several AI email newsletters to keep on top of this rapidly evolving industry. Not everyone relies on a blog and Google to grow their newsletter. Some use paid ads, social media, YouTube videos or influencer sponsorships. These are all powerful marketing methods. Yet I still love Google search the most, which is why I think the Blog + Newsletter combo is still a great option today. Why? Because once you build up your blog content and authority, the traffic doesn't stop. Most marketing methods cost money to maintain, or bring in a spike of subscribers then die off. Google search is the only traffic source I know that will keep working long term (I'm using it again for my current business [InboxDone.com](). You should test all of these methods to see what works for you, but making sure you're building up your blog content at the same time must be a priority. My Blog Sales Funnel Formula In my flagship course Blog Mastermind 2.0, I teach six workshops breaking down this business model. - From topic selection to market positioning and offer refinement - Setting up the Blog + Newsletter combo - Publishing blog content that brings in traffic - Crafting an email sequence designed to sell your product or service - Digital product structure and pricing - Setting up automated systems so you make sales while you sleep There's no other course out there that focuses specifically on this model. I call it '[The Blog Sales Funnel]('. This model works really well for content creators who solve problems. If you teach or coach people in areas related to health, wealth, relationships or things like travel, makeup, music, food -- the most popular things us humans enjoy, this is ideally suited to you. It doesn't matter if you intend to sell books, courses, a membership site or services as a coach, freelancer or agency, the Blog Sales Funnel works. It's about attracting the right people, getting them on to your newsletter, delivering more education to build trust, and then selling what you sell. Simple. There are things to learn though. You will need to test and improve over time. You need to learn how to craft a compelling blog post. You also need to present an offer you can't refuse invite to join your newsletter. Then your newsletter emails need to provide value and sell what you sell. There's a formula to this. A flow, from one step to the next. It took me many years to learn this, practice it, and turn it into a machine. However, once I'd done the learning and built the machine, it was truly beautiful. > People search Google > find my blog posts > subscribe to my newsletter > go through my free content > and then purchase my products Many mornings I would wake up to sales made while I was sleeping. There's no more amazing feeling than this. I want you to have this feeling too. Your First Subscriber To First Customer Your goal should be to incrementally learn, build and refine your own selling machine. From writing blog posts, to your email newsletter, to making your first sales. It's a journey, one that will lead to acquiring new skills, creating a lot of content, and then landing your first customers. From there you scale up, reach more people and make more money. It's a journey I'd love to help guide you with my course Blog Mastermind 2.0. BM2.0 gives you the education and the action steps to get from A to B then all the way to building your own selling machine. You will have a blog and an email newsletter and sell your product, if you implement the process. It won't be easy, but the blueprint is there to follow. The Doors Close On 19th July 2023 Blog Mastermind 2.0 is currently only available inside the [Laptop Lifestyle Academy](. I used to sell the course individually for $1,997. Now you can get it, plus all the other Academy resources, for 50% less than that. There's also a 12-month payment plan. I'm closing the [Laptop Lifestyle Academy]( on my birthday, 19 July, 2023. Blog Mastermind 2.0 goes away along with it. I'd love for you to be in the final 2023 cohort. You can sign up here: - [Join The Laptop Lifestyle Academy + Blog Mastermind 2.0]( Make sure you review the whole page to see all the other resources you get access to in the Academy. There's way more than just BM2.0, but I do recommend you start with the course after joining.
