Speaker Johnson takes absurdity to a whole new level [View in browser]( {NAME}, For over 768 days, Jim Jordan has shown his utter contempt not only of his own colleagues in Congress, but of the entire institution of democracy and rule of law. Yet, in pursuing contempt of Congress charges against Attorney General Merrick Garland for his non-compliance with a subpoena for information about Special Counsel Hur's trumped up interview with President Biden, Jordan is exposing his own glaring hypocrisy. And he could not care less. Speaker Mike Johnson also can't be bothered with Jordan's above-the-law mentality. If you've ever read the book 1984 by George Orwell, you'll recognize the following statement by Johnson—that Jim Jordan evading a congressional subpoena for over 768 days is ok while Attorney General Garland should be held in contempt for the same thing—as a classic example of doublethink: The takeaway here is that, for MAGA Republicans, there are two sets of rules and two competing systems of law: one for them, in which they decide what's right and what is wrong; and one for the rest of us, and they get to decide there, too. For Jordan, Trump, and the MAGA mob, anyone who is not with them is against them—and they should be punished for opposing them politically with the full force of law. Jim Jordan must be defeated RIGHT NOW. Our nation cannot afford another term with Jordan in office—and worse yet, Jordan is gunning for the Speakership himself after failing to win it in 2023. Tamie can beat Jordan and put a stop to this, but she needs your support and to have you with her. [If you are as angry and frustrated as we are by MAGA living by its own set of rules, then WE NEED YOU NOW! We have a massive make-or-break deadline coming up on Sunday, June 30 at midnight and we need to fight as hard as possible right now to defeat Jordan for good:]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [$10 >>]( [$25 >>]( [$50 >>]( [$100 >>]( [$250 >>]( [Other >>]( [Give Monthly >>]( "In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it."
