For the first time in 100 years, the House of Representatives failed to organize on the opening day

For the first time in 100 years, the House of Representatives failed to organize on the opening day of the legislative session. While we now have a Speaker of the House, and the first ever Black party leader in Congress, this voting process was a sad display of far-right extremists putting their personal agendas over the people who elected them. Team, For the first time in 100 years, the House of Representatives failed to organize on the opening day of the legislative session. While we now have a Speaker of the House, and the first ever Black party leader in Congress, this voting process was a sad display of far-right extremists putting their personal agendas over the people who elected them. They took it so far that the rounds of voting continued to a level not seen in 100 years. That is unacceptable. Hard stop. I ran for Congress to get things done for North Carolinians and Americans across the country. We need to address inflation, healthcare costs, and the rising costs of housing. That is why I ran for this seat, and I promise to remain focused on these priorities no matter how many political charades far-right extremists intend to play. Democrats were united in their vote for Hakeem Jeffries as Minority Leader, and we will remain united in making progress on behalf of the people. As we come off of this unfortunate historic display of events, your support is more important now than ever.
