Such a finding illustrates how ending hunger is not only a moral imperative but also a key to national security interests. World Food Programme established an early warning system. It issues alerts and warnings that help people to better prepare for extreme weather events and authorities to launch early response plans. Fishing is Ehab's family's main source of food and income. Thanks to the early warning system, Ehab can receive text messages on his cellphone with up-to-date weather forecasts to ensure his safety while fishing. They are exposed to snakebites, diseases and even crocodile attacks. South Sudan is facing its hungriest year ever. Multiple years of unprecedented flooding have permanently expanded the wetlands of South Sudan, putting farmland under water, causing crops to drown, killing livestock and forcing millions of people from their homes.
