On the Path... [View in Web Browser]( [Access your FREE 15-minute coaching call]( Hi {NAME}, Trauma seems to be a hot topic these days, and many of the clients I work with want to know how to ‘resolve’ the trauma from their past. The thing is, when most of us, perhaps all of us, look back there’s a moment when the world turned against us, coloring us darkly. ==>> If you haven't booked a FREE 15-minute insight call with me yet, do that [HERE](! For me it was the divorce of my parents when I was 2, and the ensuing fallout of anger, yelling, drama, conflict, abuse, and insecurity. There was always fighting and screaming around me as a kid. Always an argument. My parents were mad and unpredictable. As a child I did the best I could to deal with it all, but the coping mechanisms I leaned on into my mid-twenties were insanely self-destructive. My older brother reacted to this environment by taking his anger out on me. He was violent and unstable. Imagine coming home from school at 10 years old and having your older brother assault you, shove you into a cabinet, splitting your head wide open, then having to wait several hours for your mom to get home to take you to the clinic for stitches. Or imagine accidentally honking the horn in the car while cleaning it, and having your brother get so angry that he punched you in the mouth hard enough to put your teeth through your lip. (I still have a scar) What about having your dad (whom you didn’t see that often) get so mad at your brother that he beat him with a yardstick until grandpa physically threw him out of the house? [Dylan Charles Coaching Free Call]( How did I react to all of this? In high school I got into loads of trouble. I was always in detention, I shoplifted for fun, I drank liquor on my way to school, I smoked cigarettes, and it wasn’t until 3 people from my school were murdered, all within a single month’s time in 1992 that I began to be more careful. (One of them was a friend, shot in the chest point blank with a 12-gauge, at school). Eventually I turned to drugs. I told many of these stories in detail in a recent podcast with Judith Kwoba... watch that, [here](. All of those experiences shaped the way I related to the world, and it wasn’t until I was 26 that I finally realized that no amount of alcohol, drugs, pills, porn, or self-loathing could restore my innocence or my sanity. Now I draw upon these life experiences in my coaching practice, and when you [book a FREE 15-minute insight call]( with me you will: - Get honest, unbiased insight on why you do what you do

- Learn how you can work with me one-on-one If I were still trying to 'resolve' these past traumas, I'd still need the crutch of addiction. There is no way to resolve the past, because it's in the past. Done. And here’s the thing I’ve learned. The only way to overcome trauma is to simply let go of it. Release it from having power over you. When I realized this in a powerful Yagé ceremony it was a massive shift in perspective for me, and I help my clients to understand what this really means and how to use it to heal their lives. This is how I've transmuted the dark energy of my past into a powerful way to serve others while honoring my soul. As 10th generation Bwiti shaman [Moughenda Mikala]( says, “life is not a healing journey… heal yourself and live!” Until next time...
