Viva Verve Newsletter 3/29/24 NEW VIDEO Are you wired for change? I woke up, blinked, and stretched, reluctant to get out of my cozy bed. My little dachshunds didn’t help. They were snuggled up so close to me that I pretty much slept in a straight jacket all night! And now, in the chilly morning, they did not want to move. Truth be known, neither did I. Not because I didn’t want to face the day… more because it just felt so warm and wonderful! But… I remembered my life’s mission, and no matter what it is, the first step is getting out of bed.  As I was brushing my teeth and getting ready for the day, I was listening to The Happy Pear podcast, featuring Ian Robertson, Emeritus Professor of Psychology at Trinity College, Dublin, who is widely recognized as one of the world's leading researchers in neuropsychology. I wasn’t specifically studying; I was just listening while thinking about the day ahead.   And then… Dr. Robertson said these words and stopped me in my mid-tooth-brushing tracks.  “People have either a fixed or change mindset.”   The fixed mindset predetermines behavior that is about avoiding things that challenge beliefs and the status quo for fear of failure… while the changing mindset is more open to learning and exploring without fear of failure.  Watch as I explore the theme of Dealing with Change on Viva Verve.
