Pregnant women in Gaza are at high risk. With only 16 out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals functional rig

Pregnant women in Gaza are at high risk. [USA for UNFPA]( With only 16 out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals functional right now, pregnant women in Gaza are at high risk. The ongoing conflict means that women are at a heightened risk of miscarriage. Those who do give birth are often rushed out of overcrowded hospitals to make space for other pregnant women. One hospital shut down after women who had just undergone C-section surgeries were evacuated in the middle of the night. Closed maternity units force pregnant women to travel dangerous distances just to find maternal health care. [Right now, childbirth can become a death sentence in Gaza — where the health system has essentially collapsed. Will you rush an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving health care to pregnant women, newborns, and those left vulnerable by crises like these?]( [MAKE AN EMERGENCY GIFT]( Thanks to your emergency gifts, UNFPA has delivered the following to hospitals and shelters across Gaza: - 257 Reproductive Health Kits - 9,586 Hygiene Kits - 600 Mama Kits for women who gave birth - 6,480 Menstrual Hygiene Management kits - Direct aid for 1,860 women at risk of violence - 50 community midwives, equipped with midwifery kits All in all, you’ve helped support 10,000 births in Gaza — over half of the births that have taken place since October 2023 — thanks to your humanitarian gifts. Needs are growing by the day as more women face danger and aid trickles into Gaza. [Will you make an emergency gift to deliver lifesaving health care to pregnant women and those who need it most?]( [MAKE AN EMERGENCY GIFT]( UNFPA deeply regrets the end of the humanitarian pause in Gaza. We condemn the violence in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank, including all sexual violence against women, and echo the UN Secretary-General’s call for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire and for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas. Thank you for being there for women and girls. — USA for UNFPA [usaforunfpa.org]( | info@usaforunfpa.org | [Privacy Policy]( SENT BY USA FOR UNFPA: THE UN SEXUAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH AGENCY What does UNFPA stand for?
