The second-to-last season features a complete cast turnover from Season 4, with Imelda Staunton taking over the lead role from Olivia Colman, who herself inherited it from Claire Foy. Elizabeth Debicki plays Princess Diana, and Dominic West plays Prince Charles. This season is set in the 1990s, so brace yourself for discourse. As Maggie Fremont [says in her review](sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r), even though it feels like a setup chapter for the series’ sixth and final season and Diana and Charles take up a lot of time, it’s still an enthralling modern historical drama. -Liam Matthews sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r SERIES PREMIERE NOW ON SHOWTIME, NEW EPISODES SUNDAYS AT 9/8C [Spector fuses the rock doc with the true crime miniseries](sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r) Sure you’ve heard The Crystals’ “Da Doo Ron Ron,” but have you really listened to it? It is a symphony of perfection, brought to life by Phil Spector’s unmistakable wall of sound. But Spector’s life is a strange duality; though he’s revered as one of music’s greatest producers and sound magicians, it’s hard to think of anything other than the bizarre courtroom photos of him while he was on trial for the murder of Lana Clarkson in 2003. Showtime, continuing its recent hot streak of worthwhile music documentaries, looks at Spector’s rise and fall in the four-episode Spector, while also giving plenty of screentime to Clarkson and not relegating her to a nameless victim, a rarity in this kind of show. Spector does an excellent job painting a portrait of who this man was through deep research and interviews, showing that his musical genius was saddled with loneliness, paranoia, narcissism, mental illness, and alcoholism. sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r SERIES FINALES THURSDAY ON FX AT 10/9C and ON PARAMOUNT+ [Atlanta and The Good Fight say their goodbyes](sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r) Two of television’s great genre-busting series come to a close this week, when Donald Glover’s Atlanta and Robert and Michelle King’s The Good Fight both air their series finales on Thursday. The two shows looked at what television was doing and decided they could do it better by doing it differently; Atlanta made a Black comedy that was influenced by Twin Peaks without sacrificing authenticity, and The Good Fight transformed a legal drama into a socially conscious temperature reading of America complete with shroom microdosing and talking birthmarks. This phrase gets thrown out a lot, but there truly might not be any other shows like this, ever. sTK1kjDIN:m:1:2364960064:8A6753144E73639F82F88FF489212ED2:r

How great is that? But why not just mention that it’s one of approximately 10 million holiday films you can watch over the next two months?
