The ongoing feud between actors and writers looking to make a fair living wage and studio CEOs looking to keep their guest yachts has claimed another victim of collateral damage: The Emmys. Television’s biggest night has been postponed from September, and will likely move to January, as the AMPTP refuses to come to the table and work in Hollywood has stopped. This will just give me four months to scratch my head over the numbskulled decision by Emmy voters to not nominate Reservation Dogs — our first pick for what to watch this week — despite it being [one of the three best things I watched all last year](. The series also follows the girl into adulthood, where she (Alycia Debnam-Carey) falls into similar patterns she had hoped to avoid. The subject matter is heavy — multiple forms of abuse — but director Glendyn Ivin tells Ringland’s story with a light, ethereal touch for a measured and gorgeous seven-episode series about breaking cycles and redemption.]( MAKE IT A MOVIE NIGHT [The movies that we’re streaming right now]( Maybe you shouldn’t start that 11-season drama about a cranky British private detective that will consume your next two months of free time and instead watch a movie that will be over and done in one night.
