Shout out to streaming services for keeping me from going to movie theaters! Today brings a couple movies home that I was going to see in theaters, further cementing the probability that I will never leave my house again. In addition to Hulu’s premiere of Fire Island (more info on it below), Peacock now has Robert Eggers’ The Northman, a bloody viking epic starring Alexander Skarsgard, and Showtime is home to Lamb, a disturbing Scandinavian folk horror film about a lamb-child. Yeah, both of these movies are risky endeavors that divided audiences, but that makes them perfect for home viewing. If I get bored or offended (unlikely), I can just turn them off. They’re just a few things I will be watching this weekend. -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!](sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r) sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r SEASON 3 PREMIERE OUT TODAY ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO [The Boys isn’t like other superhero shows](sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r) This blurb is for all of you who don’t watch The Boys. Why aren’t you watching The Boys? It’s not like other superhero shows. You don’t even have to like superheroes to watch it! In fact, it might help if you don’t. If you’re sick of the Marvel spam on TV and in theaters, watch Eric Kripke’s satirical take on superhero commercialism, which is filled with evil supes with PR issues, corporate interests making or breaking heroes’ careers depending on polls, and many, many comically exploding bodies. It’s a gory, insane series, but it’s also incredibly smart, with a killer performance by Antony Starr as the Superman on steroids Homelander. Three episodes are out today, with new ones coming weekly. sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r OUT TODAY ON HULU [Fire Island is a great showcase for Joel Kim Booster](sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r), future superstar Ten years ago a gay rom-com with Asian male leads would have been a pipe dream. Thank god for progress, because now we have the Hulu original Fire Island, a charming Pride and Prejudice adaptation about a trip to New York's legendary party destination for gay men. Bowen Yang and Joel Kim Booster star as buddies who feel out of place on a week-long summer vacation and get into all sorts of shenanigans. This season, the rooms contestants are trying to complete are more like escape rooms, with clues and triggers needed to progress. The participants, at least early on, seemingly were all recruited from comedy clubs, and a final round now features a giant lava-spewing volcano that winners have to climb to get the grand prize. But you're here to watch people slip up and fall into a pool of oozy, orange liquid. That happens plenty, too. sVGA-8hgN:m:1:2364960064:EE02F58257FFCE8758E629850C568BFF:r
