Stop browsing, start watching! The best TV shows and movies to watch on every screen WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r Happy Monday! The Cannes Film Festival may have the Palme d’Or, but film’s most glamorous night, the Academy Awards, had the Palm du jour. That’s all I got. It is illegal to write anything today without a mention of [Will Smith’s slap across Chris Rock’s face during last night’s Oscars](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r), so there it is. I’m going to spend the rest of the day reading hot takes and trying to remember anything else that happened during the ceremony. Then tomorrow, I move on. And it will be easy to do so with an excellent week of new releases. Here’s what to watch this week. -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r) WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r SERIES PREMIERE TUESDAY ON HULU [The Girl From Plainville is a riveting, sad story of girl texts boy](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r) If you can stomach just one more dramatization of a true story, then save room for The Girl From Plainville. Hulu's take on Michelle Carter — the high schooler at the center of the 2014 "texting suicide" case that saw her boyfriend, Conrad Roy, kill himself after Carter texted him encouragement to do so — focuses the story on Carter and Roy rather than the sensationalism of the alleged crime. It's a more thoughtful take than other recent true-story series like The Dropout, Super Pumped, and WeCrashed, studying the possible mental health issues and teenage isolation that drove Carter (Elle Fanning) and Roy's (Colton Ryan) behaviors. Fanning and Ryan are fantastic as the star-crossed teen lovers, garnering sympathy out of something so tragic, and the series avoids the big mistake others commit: Instead of making heroes out of its central characters, it makes them fully dimensional. Three episodes are out today, with new episodes coming weekly. WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r SERIES PREMIERE WEDNESDAY ON DISNEY+ [Marvel’s Moon Knight has the stars](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r) If you’re a Marvel fan, then you don’t need a reason to watch the latest superhero show on Disney+. You’re in too deep! Can’t stop now! But for everyone else, let’s be real here: Since WandaVision, Disney+’s ballyhooed Marvel shows have been decent distractions but less than marvelous. That could change with Moon Knight, which has a few things going for it that could make it the second must-see Marvel show. First, it stars future Oscar winner Oscar Isaac in the lead role and Ethan Hawke, coming off one of his finest, most unhinged performances in The Good Lord Bird, as the villain. Second, not many of us know Moon Knight (Isaac), a mercenary with dissociative identity disorder who gets imbued with the power of Egyptian gods, meaning we can get his origin story from the top instead of seeing another rehash or treating this like a web series spun off from a bigger film franchise. I’m cautiously optimistic. [Here’s everything we know about the series](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r). WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r SERIES PREMIERES THURSDAY ON HBO MAX [Julia whips up some charming comedy](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r) This biographical series about the great Julia Child comes at a perfect time. Unlike Child’s decadent concoctions loaded with butter, cream, and wine, Julia is a light and airy comedy about a major figurehead for women, cooking, and television. The always amazing Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley) gets to gasp and ooh and ahh in that cracking, shrill voice of Child’s, Lancashire’s natural charisma perfectly complementing Julia’s, while David Hyde Pierce plays her husband Paul. It’s easy to forget how important Child was to entertainment today; she revolutionized how we watch television and how we eat, and did it while men ruled the roost. Julia isn’t breaking new ground, but like Child herself, it’s so immensely watchable and delicious. Three episodes premiere this week, with new episodes weekly. WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r WORK HARD, PLAY HARD [You can still get in on Severance before it reaches its dizzying finale](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r) I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Apple TV+’s Severance is an absolute must-watch. The dark comedy/sci-fi series — about a company that has its employees divide their consciousness between their work lives and personal lives — gets better with each episode, with a major leap coming from this past week’s episode, “Defiant Jazz.” [As Allison Picurro explains in her plea to get you to watch it](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r), it’s a show that knows how to build stories and push them forward with zero flaws. Two more episodes (over the next two Fridays) remain in the first season (it’s been renewed for Season 2), and the finale is one of the most incredibly tense episodes of TV I’ve ever seen. Between this, the wonderful Pachinko, and Best Picture winner CODA, five bucks for a month of Apple TV+ is [easily the best deal in streaming right now](WF73RxHxN:m:1:2364960064:E603597AF5098ED1D90D5D4F8A355E0E:r). Flesch reading score

Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
