Stop browsing, start watching! The best TV shows and movies to watch on every screen W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r It's Friday! Cord-cutting is the consumer’s solution to regaining a sense of choice. Streaming is a big middle finger to linear television and its “air times” and “schedules,” allowing viewers to choose what they want to watch and when. But admit it: You miss the feeling of plopping down in bed, flipping on the TV, and starting a rerun of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the middle of an episode. Paramount+ wants you to have the best of both worlds with its new “live channels” feature. You could always livestream your local CBS affiliate through Paramount+, but now you have the option of other channels that constantly run and leave choosing what to watch up to fate. The channels air episodes of Paramount+ programming with no ads and are centered on themes. For example, today I turned on the Black Voices channel and watched a few minutes of Chappelle’s Show, then hopped over to the Star Trek channel and joined the middle of a TNG episode, and later I saw Cheers on the comedy classics channel. In one sense, it’s exactly what you tried to avoid — scheduled programming — when you signed up for Paramount+. In another, it’s a brilliantly simple solution for those who are overwhelmed by choice and miss the comfort of the old days. Why doesn’t every streamer do this? Anyway, here are some TV recommendations for the weekend. Enjoy! -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!](W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r) W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r FINAL SEASON NOW ON AMAZON PRIME VIDEO [The Expanse ends the war in its final season](W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r) The ambitious sci-fi series returns to Prime Video for a six-episode final season that we're getting via a good old-fashioned weekly rollout. In Season 6, as Belter rebel leader Marco Inaros (Keon Alexander) and his Free Navy continue their attacks on Earth and Mars, UN leader Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdashloo) sends former Martian Marine Bobbie Draper (Frankie Adams) on a secret mission that's the last-ditch effort to end the war. Meanwhile, on a distant planet way beyond the Rings, a new power is growing that may render all this factional fighting moot. The Expanse has been one of [the best sci-fi shows on TV for years now](W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r), and it's probably going to stick the landing. -Liam Mathews W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r SEASON 3 FINALE SUNDAY AT 9/8C ON HBO, HBO MAX [Succession is going to blow up the internet](W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r) If you don’t watch the Succession Season 3 finale, how will you be able to have a conversation with anyone on Monday? While everyone has spent the year off in their own personal streaming nooks, Succession is the closest thing TV has to a watercooler television show that everyone is watching. The final episode of Season 3 sees the Roys in Italy for Caroline’s wedding, and if the two previous season finales are any indication, something akin to a meteor crashing into the Earth is going to happen. But the biggest question on everyone’s minds is: Will all the Roy siblings attend, or will someone be missing because of extended pool time? If you need something to pass the time until Sunday, [here are eight other shows like Succession](W31NREHN2:m:1:2364960064:30260F60872121483863B389650D359D:r). I would have immediately said Love Actually, purely based on its popularity. But here in the virtual offices, there was plenty of support from the younger crowd for the 2006 rom-com starring Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black. Is this a generational thing? Are either of them actually good on their own? We’ve put together a list of shows that fans of the series will enjoy, whether they’re about heists, deal with crime, or are Pina’s other bingeable shows. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
