A special episode of an HBO series is a must-watch for everyone, NBC offers something for Greyâs Anatomy fans, and The X-Filesâ spirit lives on in these sci-fi and conspiratorial shows. Hello!
I can think of no more appropriate way to end 2020 than with this Kentucky Fried Chicken-branded mini-movie starring Mario “I am literally up for ANYTHING” Lopez as Colonel Sanders that will [air on Lifetime this Sunday](. And to think: There’s still more than two weeks left of 2020 after that. At least someone got it right; Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker [announced a Netflix mockumentary called Death to 2020]( a fake retrospective looking at everyone’s least favorite year that will air “sometime soon.” Screw it, I will watch them both. Here are this week’s TV picks. -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( [Euphoria]( Now on HBO, HBO Max
[Euphoria delivers a My Dinner with And-Rue powerhouse]( Can I be honest with you? I don't like Euphoria even though everyone else does. But boy did I love this special episode, which serves as a bridge between seasons and ditches the excess of the first round of episodes. You don't need to be up to date on the gritty teen series to appreciate this quiet, stripped-down hour, which is essentially a long conversation in a diner between Rue (Emmy winner Zendaya) and her Narcotics Anonymous sponsor Ali (Colmon Domingo, who deserves an Emmy for this episode) about life, their pasts, their presents, and drug addiction. Both performances are stellar, and the talk is riveting as Ali imparts his wisdom on Rue through his own experiences. It's not just an important episode for the show's story, it's an important episode that transcends television. This is the first of two special Euphoria episodes before Season 2 airs; the second episode will be released at a later date. [Nurses]( Monday at 10 on NBC
[The Nurses are ready to treat Grey’s Anatomy fans]( Maybe you like Grey's Anatomy, but are more interested in hanging out with nurses who are 15 years younger than the doctors. Voila, I present you Nurses, a Canadian import (the first season aired in January up north) from the team who brought you Rookie Blue. It follows nurses at a Toronto hospital as they save patients and deal with their messy, complicated personal lives. Honestly, I've probably over-explained this comforting broadcast drama. You know what this is. [The X-Files]( Coming soon
[If you miss the conspiracy of The X-Files, watch these shows next]( Tinfoil hat collecting dust in the corner? Put it back on and [dive deep into these shows that are like the greatest conspiracy series of all time, The X-Files](. Yes, you very badly need to watch Fringe (which is streaming for free).

[Let Them All Talk brings masters of their craft together on the high seas]( Meryl Streep and director Steven Soderbergh team up for this genre-busting film following an aloof author (Streep) and her two friends (played by Dianne Wiest and Candice Bergen) as they take a cruise across the Atlantic. The unexpected surprise is all about the tenuousness of friendship no matter your age, all reined in under Soderbergh’s watchful eye and an authentic cruise ship experience, as [Jordan Hoffman says in his review](. [The Affair]( Now on YouTube and Sho.com (both free)
[Showtime is giving a bunch of shows out for free; here’s what to watch]( 'Tis the season of giving, and Showtime is handing out free samples of its programming, like the Season 11 premiere of Shameless, the first season of The Affair, and a few of my favorite shows from the past two years, Work in Progress and Love Fraud. You’ve got nothing to lose! [Here are our suggestions for what to watch]( as well as the list of everything that’s available for free.
