Fox’s new primetime soap is a dirty guilty pleasure, a docuseries on voter suppression is a must-see for all Americans, and the best shows of the week include a Star Trek series brought to the masses for the first time. Hello! Last night’s Emmy Awards featured plenty of surprises, most notably how to successfully pull off a socially distanced awards show for TV’s biggest night. But if you were unable to watch because of the billions of other things that were also going on last night, here’s a [quick rundown of what happened]( the [best and worst moments]( and the [winners list](. My favorite show, Better Call Saul, went home with a goose egg. Sigh. Here are today’s TV picks. -Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( [Filthy Rich]( Series premiere Monday at 9/8c on Fox [Filthy Rich is dirty fun]( In the opening scene of Fox’s new primetime soap Filthy Rich, Kim Cattrall, in a shiny red sequin dress and wearing a fur, exits a Southern mansion that’s going up in flames and sultrily says into the camera, “Rot in hell.” That should tell you all you need to know about the series, a ridiculous romp about the family behind a Christian television network embroiled in scandal when the patriarch’s private jet crashes with him and two mistresses inside, opening up the truth about three illegitimate children he had. It’s self-aware satire that goes in one ear and out the other, where every single character is harboring several graveyards worth of skeletons in their fabulous walk-in closets, and where the hair-pulling and name-calling is rampant whether they believe in God or operate a fetish camgirl site. The series was supposed to be a spring 2020 show, but got kicked back to fall where it’s one of the few new shows debuting this season because of COVID. It’s a guilty pleasure, but you’ve made it this far into 2020, so you earned it. [All In: The Fight for Democracy]( Now on Amazon Prime (free for a limited time Tuesday) [All In: The Fight for Democracy is fighting voter suppression]( This incredibly well done documentary film covers the topic of voter suppression — the act of placing restrictions on eligible voters for political purposes — throughout history and with a focus on the 2018 race for the governor of Georgia. In that election, Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams lost to Republican Brian Kemp by mere percentage points in a contest that was widely believed to be determined by voter suppression when more than 300,000 voters were wrongly flagged by the state to be ineligible the day before the election. The film’s goal is to stress the importance of a pure democracy by making sure every eligible American citizen has the right to vote, and covers voting rights from the signing of the Constitution to today. It’s also a compelling infomercial for Abrams that explains why she’s become such a political powerhouse and the unfortunate face of potentially rigged elections. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, don’t worry. You can watch it for free tomorrow on National Voter Registration Day ([details here](. By the way, you can register to vote [right here](.
