Hello!
As an Ohioan, I am legally obligated to tell you that Disney+ has [revealed the premiere date and trailer for the eight-episode series The Right Stuff]( which tells the story of former Ohio senator John Glenn and the Mercury Seven, aka America’s first astronauts. Now, you might be saying to yourself, “Wait, wasn’t that already a book and a movie?” And the answer is yes. But who cares, space is freaking cool and I wish I could be an astronaut. Until that day comes, though, I’ll just stick to recommending what to watch on TV. Here are today’s picks. –Kaitlin

[Random Acts of Violence will slash your boredom by at least half](
Apatow movie regular Jay Baruchel directs this slasher movie that questions why we like gory horror while indulging in some really gnarly kills. It exists in the same criticism/celebration vein as Michael Haneke's Funny Games, and though it's not as thematically sophisticated, it's a quick, stylish movie that slasher fans will appreciate. Grey's Anatomy's Jesse Williams plays Todd, a comic book writer whose popular series, Slasherman, is inspired by real crimes committed by a sadistic serial killer who was never caught. He's trying to finish the series, but is having trouble coming up with an ending, so he goes on a road trip with his girlfriend, Kathy (Jordana Brewster), who's working on a book about the real Slasherman's forgotten victims, his publisher, Ezra (Baruchel), and assistant, Aurora (Niamh Wilson), to promote the comic and visit the town where the killer operated. While on the tour, new murders start happening that indicate the killer is now drawing inspiration from Todd's comics. Random Acts of Violence attempts to grapple with ideas about the responsibility of the artist, and also contains some horrifying imagery that you'll still see when you close your eyes. –Liam Mathews

[The Bureau spies a fascinating ending](
Often compared to Homeland at its best, the French series The Bureau is a hit among critics, telling the story of a French spy working at an agency that operates all over the globe including Iraq, Russia, and Cambodia. For the Season 5 finale, creator Eric Rochant, who had previously steered the slow-burning series since its start, did something really unusual: He gave complete control of the season's final two episodes to acclaimed French director Jacques Audiard, who put his surreal stamp on the finale. It might be a bit jarring for those who have steadfastly watched the entire series, but it might be an artistic leap that zaps a fresh new jolt into the steady spy drama. –Tim Surette
