Netflixâs Warrior Nun is the wildest supernatural teen series of the summer. Plus a Romanian crime caper on Hulu, a Swedish financial thriller on Sundance Now, and a classic comedy on Netflix.
Hello!
[We didn’t like Space Force very much]( but we love Ben Schwartz, and he was the best part of that underwhelming Netflix comedy as social media director F. Tony Scarapiducci. TV Guide’s Megan Vick did a [great interview]( with Benny Schwaz about Space Force, his trio of improv specials with Thomas Middleditch for Netflix, his old Upright Citizens Brigade improv show Snowpants, Animal Crossing, and more. It’s a must-read for comedy fans. Here are tonight’s TV picks. -[Liam](

[Warrior Nun is a title that tells you what the show is about, you know?](
Now on Netflix
Fans of Syfy's [Wynonna Earp]( will likely love [Warrior Nun]( a new fantasy series based on the comic book character created by Ben Dunn. The show stars Alba Batista as Ava, a young woman who wakes up in a morgue to discover she has been given a new lease on life via an embedded angel's halo in her back. Gifted with exceptional powers courtesy of the divine artifact, she discovers she is now part of an ancient order of nuns tasked with killing demons on Earth. However, things aren't quite that simple, as the Catholic Church and even more sinister forces wish to control her. -Kaitlin Thomas

[The Whistlers want your attention](
Now on Hulu
This Coenesque Romanian crime movie follows a crooked cop named Cristi (Vlad Ivanov) and a beautiful, mysterious woman named Gilda (Catrinel Marlon) as they study the whistled language of La Gomera in Spain’s Canary Islands -- [a real thing!]( -- in order to pull off a high-stakes heist. It was Romania’s submission to the Academy Awards last year, but it wasn’t nominated, probably because it’s too much fun. For fans of international Spanish crime capers like [White Lines]( and Sexy Beast.

Now on Sundance Now
This based-on-true-events Swedish financial thriller has been compared to Succession for its cynical take on wealth and power. Midsommar’s Julia Ragnarsson stars as Bea Farkas, a financial journalist who’s having a secret, wildly unprofessional affair with bank director Peder Rooth (Narcos’ Matias Varela). She loves him, but when she’s assigned to cover the bank’s quarterly report, she notices some very troubling irregularities. All eight episodes are streaming on Sundance Now.

[Why not just watch Spaceballs?](
Now on Netflix
Look, man, the TV pipeline is drying up. There just isn’t a lot of new stuff for me to recommend for you. So I’m going to recommend you watch a silly old movie that just hit Netflix on the first of the month, because you deserve to laugh. Mel Brooks’ Star Wars spoof Spaceballs is still funny all these years later (look at how young Bill Pullman was!). It’s basically the same plot of the original Star Wars trilogy (and The Force Awakens, lol), about a chosen one saving his home planet and a princess, but all the Star Wars references are made into very stupid puns, like “Yogurt” and “Pizza the Hut” and “Dark Helmet.” You probably haven’t seen it in awhile, so why not?
