The creator of Veep is back with a show that is out of this world, Season 2 of one of 2019’s best new shows premieres, and the next great BBC nature documentary is here. Hello! If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering what to do with all the piles of cash you have lying around the house. Turn that dough into entertainment by signing up for another streaming service! [NBCUniversal revealed details]( of its upcoming streaming service Peacock (I still do not like that name), and it’s taking a few different approaches from its rivals. The basic tier will be free, supported by ads, and have limited access to NBCUniversal’s library of titles, which includes The Office and others. But the tier you actually want is Peacock’s premium option, which will cost you five bucks a month. That tier will have everything Peacock has to offer (with ads), because you can bet your butt that Peacock will keep some of The Office behind that paywall. On top of that, you can shell out another five bucks to keep the ads away. There’s a lot more to the service — including a reason to finally be happy about being a Comcast subscriber — and [we have all the information, including its launch date, that you’re looking for](. Here are tonight’s TV picks. –Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( WATCH THIS NOW! [Little America]( [Little America is already one of the year’s best shows]( Season 1 now on Apple TV+ The reasons to subscribe to Apple TV+, Apple’s new streaming service, so far have boiled down to this: You really, really like Jennifer Aniston. Now you can add one more reason: You really, really like great television. Apple TV+ gets its [first must-see original series with Little America]( an anthology from The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon, and The Office’s Lee Eisenberg. True stories of immigrants in America are compacted into joyous, funny, and beautifully shot 30-minute episodes that don’t follow the usual trappings of immigrant stories. Most notably, Little America focuses on the drives of its characters who are seeking to succeed in America and the systemic issues they face, rather than the bad apples who oppress them through racism. Using that tactic, Little America becomes a heartwarming anthology about finding opportunity and overcoming obstacles rather than a finger-pointing debate on where the problem lies. Each episode is like a grab bag of mystery; I couldn’t stop watching. LET’S GET IT ON [Sex Education]( [Sex Education does teen raunch right]( Season 2 now on Netflix One of 2019’s most surprising shows returns for Season 2 ready to explore more of what makes high schoolers tick. Asa Butterfield stars as a young man who provides therapy about all things birds and bees with his fellow students, and Gillian Anderson stars as his mom, a licensed intimacy therapist. The series is a standout for its approach of the ins-and-outs of the ol’ in-and-out with teenagers, recognizing that kids are already doing the deed and being open about it while also treating issues with LGBTQ couples equally. [There may be a little fatigue from Season 1]( but it’s still one of Netflix’s best new originals over the past few years. TO HILARITY… AND BEYOND! [Avenue 5]( [Avenue 5 launches satire into orbit]( Series premiere Sunday at 10/9c on HBO With the advent of commercial space travel nearly upon us thanks to [pseudo-stoned entrepreneurs like Elon Musk]( luxury space cruises aren’t far behind. And they’ll be terrible, just like their Earth-bound counterparts. That’s at the heart of Armando Iannucci’s new HBO comedy Avenue 5, [which carries over some of the wit and pace of his previous show Veep]( but leaves most of the profane putdowns back on Earth. Playing the captain of a massive, corporate-owned spaceship, Hugh Laurie leads a stellar cast that navigates space cruise disasters, unruly passengers, and waste management in zero gravity in this satire of the hospitality industry and takedown of corporate negligence. It might not be as good as Veep, but it’s still pretty funny. Iannucci recently discussed the show at the Television Critics Association press tour, where [he said that it takes off in a new direction]( about halfway through the first season. HBO sent critics the first four episodes, which I enjoyed, but his comment has me even more excited to watch more. THERE IS NO PLANET B [Seven Worlds, One Planet]( [Seven Worlds, One Planet is another BBC doc marvel]( Series premiere Saturday at 9/8c on BBC America Surprise, surprise. The latest nature documentary from the BBC is amazing, as they all are. Seven Worlds, One Planet focuses on one continent at a time, showing off the biodiversity of the planet that we keep turning the heat up on. BBC America decided to alter the order of the episodes so the premiere will now focus on Australia and its abundance of beautiful monsters to show the urgency of the natural disasters burning their way through the country. You’re guaranteed to see about 50 minutes of things you’ve never seen before with each installment, and as always, the great Sir David Attenborough guides you through with his sage-like voice. WHAT’S YOUR EMERGENCY, PARDNER? [9-1-1: Lone Star]( [9-1-1: Lone Star brings Texas-sized insanity to Fox’s franchise]( Special series premiere Sunday at 10 p.m. ET/7p.m. PT on Fox AFTER FOOTBALL Why make new procedurals when you can make more of the same procedurals that already exist? CBS, NBC, and ABC have done that for years, and now Fox is blowing out one of its franchises with a new spin-off. 9-1-1: Lone Star expands 9-1-1 by moving the core idea to Austin, Texas, where a New York fireman (Rob Lowe) rebuilds a firehouse from the ground up after nearly all its firefighters get blown up in a fertilizer mill explosion. It’s more of the same you’ve come to expect from 9-1-1; first-responders (firefighters and paramedics, mostly) take calls big, small, [and weird]( -- in the second episode, a board meeting is interrupted when employees begin jumping out of a window -- while balancing their personal lives. Unlike the flagship series, Lone Star [jumps right into the character stories]( including Liv Tyler, who plays a paramedic trying to solve her sister’s murder and Rob Lowe understandably worried about his hair after getting some bad news. Episode 2 airs tomorrow night. [Unsubscribe]( | [View online]( ©2020 CBS Interactive | All Rights Reserved.
