Series premiere 8:30/7:30c on Freeform
Josh Thomas may not be a household name yet, but this show is his first step toward conquering America. The Australian comedian, who found cult fame with his series Please Like Me, created and stars in this heartfelt but unsentimental coming-of-age dramedy about an immature young man who becomes his teenage half-sisters’ guardian, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, after their father dies. They all have to grow up fast, but they’re gonna do it together. It’s a dramedy, but it’s more of a comedy, and it manages to integrate its two halves better than most young adult dramedies, with very funny jokes about topics many shows of its ilk wouldn’t dare to joke about. It kicks off tonight with a special one-hour premiere episode, followed by the second episode.

Midseason premiere Thursday at 8/7c on the CW
The second half of Supernatural’s 15th season is the final run of episodes for the show, forever. It’s hard to believe that this series that’s been on since before the iPhone came out won’t be around anymore in a few short months. But as Chuck paraphrases Dr. Manhattan in the [15B trailer]( “nothing ever really ends.” And by that I mean it’ll be available to stream. The midseason premiere finds Sam and Eileen facing down a brutal truth, while Dean and Castiel team up to try to get the drop on Chuck.

Season 3 premiere at Thursday at 8/7c
Yara Shahidi’s black-ish spin-off returns for junior year, aka Season 3. In the premiere, Zoey comes home from her summer internship abroad and realizes she has to confront her feelings about Aaron (Trevor Jackson) and Luca (Luka Sabbat, [the influencer who doesn’t influence]( before her heart gets torn in two. Plus, interning for Joey Badass is a tough job. I like to imagine that Leon, the assassin Mr. Badass played on Mr. Robot, is his real identity, and rapper Joey Badass is his secret identity.
He’ll never die, MF!
[Remember The Last Days of Richard Pryor](
Thursday at 9/8c on ABC
This two-hour ABC News special takes a look at the life and death of comedian Richard Pryor, the greatest stand-up comic of all time, who died in 2005 at age 65. The special unearths previously unseen excerpts from Pryor’s interviews with Barbara Walters before his death, as well as new interviews with his widow, Jennifer Pryor, and actors and comedians who worked with him. His life was almost unfathomably difficult and chaotic, and this special finds him reflecting on the pain that helped make him one of the funniest people who ever lived.
