[The Feed is a must watch for Black Mirror fans](
Series premiere now on Amazon Prime
Amazon’s adaptation of Nick Clark Windo’s dystopian novel will feel like a series long extrapolation of Black Mirror’s excellent “The Entire History of You.” Taking Black Mirror’s premise to its obvious extreme, The Feed blends a grim future where everyone is constantly mentally linked to the internet — or “the feed” as it’s known — with a riveting family drama. As the technology that keeps the feed running gets hacked, everyone with a feed implant begins to feel debilitatingly sick. As the corporation that created the feed races to find a solution, the family sitting on the throne reluctantly comes together to save humanity.
SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A RHINESTONE
[Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings is here to make you a believer](
Series premiere now on Netflix
There’s a reason that even people who hate country music love Dolly Parton. The trailblazing songwriter carved her own path to country superstardom by staying true to herself even when record executives told her she’d never make it. What happened next is a storied career that Dolly is revisiting with a new Netflix anthology series based on her music. Each episode is a self-contained story that hones in on a Dolly song: Four episodes will center on classics like “Jolene” and “Two Doors Down” while the other four will feature brand new music from Dolly herself. With an all-star cast including Kathleen Turner, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Melissa Leo, Heartstrings is a must-watch for any Dolly stan.
CALLING ALL HAPPY VALLEY FANS
[If you missed watching Sarah Lancashire brood on screen, catch her in The Accident this weekend](
Series premiere now on Hulu
From Skins Creator Jack Thorne comes a drama based on modern tragedy aptly titled The Accident. The series was inspired by the real-life 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, and Thorne pulled on the thread of corporate responsibility and greed for inspiration. In The Accident, the titular event is a factory explosion in a sleepy town in Wales that kills a group of local teens, causing the town to turn on each other in an effort to channel the rage over this inexplicable tragedy. Sarah Lancashire, queen of the gritty British drama (shout out to Happy Valley), stars in the series as a grieving mother and the wife of the local councilor who brought the new factory to the town.
GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF, BUT MAKE IT REALISTIC
[Nailed It: Holiday Edition returns for a festive batch of episodes](
Now on Netflix
In case you’ve been living under a rock, Nailed It is the only reality baking show most of us could actually compete in. Hosted by the effervescent Nicole Byer, each episode features a new set of ametuer bakers who are given an Instagram-perfect dessert to recreate. The only snag? None of the contestants are very good at baking, and every single thing they make could be generously described as a Pinterest fail. The hilarious, heart-warming show returns with a whole new batch of holiday-themed episodes, and we can guarantee that the good-natured laughs (and cringe-worthy bakes) just keep on coming
GET READY TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY WITH A JORDAN PEELE CLASSIC
[The runaway horror hit Us is finally available to stream this weekend](
Saturday at 8/7c on HBO and HBO’s streaming apps
Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out is the horror masterpiece Us. Starring Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke as a couple who take their children on summer vacation, the film takes a sharp turn towards the sinister as a traumatic experience from Nyongo’o’s character’s past catches up to her in the present. In case you missed it in theaters, fear not (well, maybe fear a little), by Sunday night, all [those great Us memes]( will finally make sense to you.
