Netflix’s best competition series moves across the pond to invade Europe, HBO details one man

Netflix’s best competition series moves across the pond to invade Europe, HBO details one man’s difficult road to recovery, and a new streaming movie asks how far you would go for a loved one. Hello! Congratulations, internet! You’ve done it. Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are [no longer helming the next Star Wars film trilogy](. They’re publicly saying they don’t have time for Star Wars because they want to focus on their new Netflix deal, but that’s like saying you can’t accept the position of mayor of Candyland because you wanted to get a head start on filing your taxes. Star Wars is the Holy Grail of media, and after the [backlash]( to the final season of Game of Thrones — whether it was deserved or not — the potential for more vitriol might have made DnD wary. Maybe this is the best outcome for everyone involved. At least the [new trailer for The Mandalorian looks good](. Here are tonight’s TV picks. –Tim [Your Watch This Now! newsletter is created by Senior Recommendations and Reviews Editor Tim Surette and more show-obsessed editors at TV Guide!]( WATCH THIS NOW! [Arrow]( [Arrow’s sister returns]( Tuesday at 9/8c on The CW It’s been nearly a season and a half since Thea Queen (Willa Holland) left Arrow to destroy the Lazarus Pits, but Oliver’s half-sister returns tonight for what should be an emotional reunion before Oliver Queen dies in this final season of the show. This could be the start of a revolving door of Arrow returns, as next week’s episode sees Curtis (Echo Kellum) also return to say bye to Oliver. Also of note: Star Katie Cassidy goes behind the camera to make her directorial debut, so let’s all give her words of encouragement. FAILURE IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE [Nailed It! Spain]( [Nailed It! invades Europe]( Now on Netflix Netflix’s celebration of suckitude heads across the Atlantic for two new international editions: Nailed It! France and Nailed It! Spain. The recipe is the same: Amateur bakers are set up for failure when they’re asked to re-create elaborate confections in a set amount of time, but it’s all in good fun as Nailed It! is one of the more positive competition shows out there. What really separates these two new versions from the original U.S. version are the hosts. Spanish singer and gay icon La Terremoto de Alcorcon keeps things warm and adorned with fake eyelashes, while French comedian Artus adds energy and some unfortunate dabbing. Are either as good as Nicole Byer? C’mon, do you even have to ask? WHAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED [Any One of Us]( [Any One of Us is a journey through recovery]( Tuesday at 9/8c on HBO I’m assuming the title is the second half of the phrase that begins with “It can happen to…” which scares the crap out of me because Any One of Us follows a young man’s recovery from a spinal cord separation. When pro mountain biker Paul Basagoitia missed his line at the Red Bull Rampage in 2015, he tumbled down the face of a mountain and became paralyzed. Basagoitia documented his recovery from the accident with his own cameras, offering a personal account of the life-threatening injury that changed his perspective. Though Paul’s story is the focus, Any One of Us brings attention to many people with spinal cord injuries by showcasing their stories as well. SNAKEBIT [Rattlesnake]( [Rattlesnake asks ‘What would you do?’ in a terrible situation]( Now on Netflix Netflix movies are for the truly brave. Do you have the stones to commit 90 minutes to a film that just appeared in your feed with zero buzz? I love firing one up and diving in, sight unseen, knowing that I’m probably in for a dud, and Rattlesnake sure isn’t great. It follows a mother whose daughter gets bitten by a rattlesnake in a small, dusty town, and when the girl is cured by a weird local, the mother is told she must take another person’s life to keep her daughter’s. What follows is a demented look at morality under pressure: How far would you go to save a loved one? Who deserves to die? Sadly, the script doesn’t put its protagonist through enough difficulty. It’s got the suspense but not the depth, making it perfect for a surface-level afternoon watch while you flip through Instagram.
